When was Fury elected ambassador of the sport?

I get why Mayweather was (all the PPV sales, the gossip sites following him, the casuals knowing who he is...). Does Fury have that yet? Will he ever?

 

Fury and Mayweather are terrible ambassadors for the sport. The Klitschkos and Pacquiao were great. PhDs holders who speak half a dozen languages and a deeply religious philanthropist congressman were great role models. I can't remember a time when they weren't friendly and affable. They acted like champions in and out of the ring. Fury and Mayweather were/are just obnoxious clowns.

 

Fury's much better than Klitschko for the sport. He can drag in casuals in to the game in ways Klitschko simply can't.

But in Germany and eastern Europe wlad was dragging in everyone his a star. I think we sometimes tend to view the world as what we know and experience rather than as a whole. I realised how popular wlad was in Germany when a German woman I was working with knew exactly who wlad and vitali were but didn't know who mayweather or Pacman were. There huge over there
