The Future ? Andre Ward

No, Calzaghe was ranked in the top ten P4P before he fought Kessler. P4P rankings need to be based on a body of work against a range of opponents. How often do we see people proclaimed as top ten P4P that clearly never should have been there (in the last couple of years - Kelly Pavlik? Anotnio Margarito ).

Personally, I wouldn't rank anyone that highly on the basis of one win only. Ward has the opportunity to achieve that in his next four fights however.

 

well here we go again in the same thread no less. Another poster waiting on the sidelines till after the fact. And youll come here later after ward is p4p (#1), and say you knew it all along. Just like Lamps.

 

Not really sure what your point is. Yes, Ward has potential. No he should not yet be elevated to a P4P standing. That should be based on achievements, not potential.

That's hardly a radical standpoint.

If Ward does go onto achieve the kind of things that he has the potential to, then that doesn't prove my current standpoint wrong?

 

We will know who the future of SMW will be after the Super Six winner faces Bute.

That is the great part, noone has to answer me. This thread is timestamped from ages ago when everyone said Ward would be ****. So every time he wins I bring this back up just for all you ***gots to see. Sometimes (if your a true fan), you just know when someone will be great. I saw it in the olympics, and noone else did. **** y'all. He's p4p#1 just like I said he would be. And he makes Calzaghe look like a ***** too, just like I always said Calzaghe was.
