There are a ton of good looking middleweights. I do like Jacobs the best of the bunch, but Korobov, Golovkin, N'Jikam and Pirog are no jokes.

It's not like Jacobs was never beaten in the ams. Korobov, Shawn Porter, Fernando Guerrero all beat him there at one time or another.

I don't know why people are even bringing up Andrade versus Jacobs. Completely different weight class. Of course he would outclass Figueroa, who's pretty crap. Could be good looking, but something about him....

Also, I doubt Jacobs becomes a superstar. He just doesn't have the demeanor or the style to become super popular.

Speaking of Rojas, I was gonna mention Roberto Benitez, who is very popular and has a few commercails out already, he could be a superstar in the making, yet like Guzman, hes gonna end up fighting at old age, because he droped out for awhile.

Agreed. Andrade I believe will be one of the absolute best boxers in the world. Gary Russell jr. maybe.

Danny Jacobs is a bit of a fraud dude. He has basic skills and not very intelligent as a boxer from what I have seen and there is no defense to speak of.

I did not know that...on wiki it says

As an amateur boxer, Jacobs recorded 137 wins and 7 losses. In 2003, Jacobs won the Junior Olympics national championship. In 2004, Jacobs won the United States national champion in the 19–and–under division, a PAL national championship, and a National Golden Gloves welterweight championship. In 2005, he won his second PAL national championship and also won the National Golden Gloves middleweight championship. In 2006, Jacobs won the United States Amateur middleweight championship. During his amateur career, Jacobs won four New York Golden Gloves championships

and all his fights have been on undercards to every major Pay Per View to date....would a non super star get booking on the undercard to every major PPV to date? :think

Jacobs is 22, and has 18 fights !!! 9 by 1st round KO. And major achivements in his AM background, you don't belive boxings best writers when they put him down as the number 1 prospect? How is he a fraud he only had 7 losses.

Now you're contradicting yourself, saying AM background doesn't matter that much. How about Matt Korobovs amateur background, on top of it all he stopped Daniel?

I don't think anyone is saying Daniel is a fraud, but he definitely isn't the hottest prospect in my eyes.

Amateurs and professionals are two different things Jacobs will get beat down once he faces decent opposition. He'll never compare to truly elite fighters or prospects. Andrade will though.

    I wouldn't call Jacob's a fraud at all.

    Consider what he did:

Kirkland loses his chance to appear on the Pacquiao-Hatton undercard because of gun possession. They need a last minute replacement so Danny Jacobs take the opportunity against the always tough Michael Walker. But Jacobs also stays with his original opponent on ESPN and fights Jose Varela one week before his fight with Walker.
Now Jacobs could have lost that chance to fight Walker in the biggest opportunity of Jacobs career (fighting on a high profile PPV fight). If his fight with Valera would go all rounds Jacobs could have lost that chance.

But Jacobs was able to KO Varela and the very next week beat Walker.

To say that Jacobs isn't smart in the ring would only lead me to guess someone didn't watch his fight with Ishe Smith.
That was a very risky fight for Jacobs. Smith is a very tough and very smart boxer. If you beat him, you more than likely got a decision you didn't deserve (Joel Julio).
But Jacobs clearly beat him. Jacobs did show ring intelligence and did adjust to the adjustments that Smith was making.
