is (about to be burned) at stake,to say the least.

the only few boxers left are paul williams, kelly pavlik and chad dawson.

apart from them,i dont see any other US boxer to step up further. (eastern)european and british boxers will dominate the weight classes in the next ten or fifteen years.

one of the reasons is the poor and weak amateur program in the US

    you're wrong of course.

USA boxing will still be strong in the next decade and probably even see an improvement after a slump during which they were still strong. And what about Philippines, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and all the other non-european countries

As much as I would love to see British (and to a lesser extent European) boxers dominate over the next 10-15 years, it won't happen.

USA just has too many kids in gyms, creating a massive talent pool in relation to other countries. In 10-15 years, kids who are right now 5-10 will be the pro's.

Heavyweights have been missing on the US side for years and years, but there are possible greats in the works with guys like Devon Alexander, Tim Bradley and new upcoming fighters like Boo Boo Andrade etc.

Definitely got some hope for American fighters.

Boxing promoters keep selling people on terrible cards that give a disappointing show more often than not.

The near future may still look somewhat bright but if boxing continues to go the way it has been, every kid looking to learn to fight will go to an MMA gym over a boxing gym.

I was never one to accept the "boxing is dying" theories but it probably is true here in the US.

i didnt say its hopeless, the facts do show that it doesnt look too good and im not underestimating anybody.

im just wondering where all those "big talents" are? in every decade,a phantastic fighter shows up: the last one was roy jones jr, nowadays i dont see anyone. the only two great ones are williams and bradley, pavlik lost clearly to an 45 old guy, ward and dirrell are good fighters, but they havent prevailed yet.

these are the leftovers; the US amateur program nowadays is useless.sure there are thousands of kids on the gym, but unless they dont achieve anything as amateuers, they will remain practice champions

    one more thing:

the russian amateur programm is HUGE. there are many rich people who support the russian amateur federation financially and by the year of 23-25, every good boxer has a record of 200-250 bouts and will be fighting against US boxers.

since the US is in the worst crisis since world war 2,theres no money around. therefore no support and many fighters have to turn pro immediately without any amateur background at all

The boxing promoters and Media in the US will never allow their to be a vast majority of foreign domination as they will always have a young up and comer who they can hype to the max and the influence they have on the boxing world means their will always be an American their to challenge for the title.
