On 10-17-09 Cuban Cruserweight Yoan Pablo Hernandez will fight with 17-1 Enad Licina for the IBF Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title.

For those of you who don't remember Hernandez was the one who was TKO'd in the 3rd by Wayne Braithwaite, even though Hernandez was looking great in the first 2 rounds and even knocked Braithwaite down in the 1st round but got too cocky in the 3rd and was knocked down 3 times losing via the 3 knock down rule.

Hopefully he does better in this match because if he wins he will become the 1st Cuban to hold a IBF title (World or Regonal).

 

US and Cuban relations are improving and Pres. Obama has a lot to do with that. Hopefully some point in the future all of the Cuban talent won't have to deal with the drama of federal defection

 

Hopefully, we can never have too many Cuban prospects.

 

Another update, Yuriorkis Gamboa's bro Yoelvis is set to debut on the 21se against a opponent TBN in Florida.

i have heard from cubans that have seen him both the he is good and that he isnt so we 'll see it depends on who you ask

It appears Solis vs K. Johnson was rescheduled for october 10th.

Now Solis will have enough time, no escuse for showing up out of shape. He should win this fight.

RANCES BARTHELEMY TURNS PRO WITH WARRIORS!

Yan Barthelemy's little brother turns pro. Well, actually he turned pro on August 8 it seems, winning a by KO1 (in 13 seconds to be precise) in Columbia, South Carolina. Here's the official press release:

It was also announced that World Cup amateur champion Yunier Dorticos of Cuba will make his awaited professional debut against 40 fight veteran Hilario Guzman in a bout scheduled for four rounds in the cruiserweight division. Dorticos is only 23-years-old and is a prospect to watch out for.
