i think these guys find it difficult to get motivated to fight taxidrivers for years on their way to titlefights. Maybe they have be sparringpartners for fighters preparing to titlefights (Kirkland and others) to get some dollars.
We got to believe they know when to be serious.

 

In boxing like any other professional sport, you have to be serious right from the get go, Gonzalez quit in sparring against a JMW with a glass jaw, Kirkland, and his friend is always on facebook bragging about his status in Bongos, they are going no where, they have to take this serious...

So it's very safe to say that only our " dedicated " Cubans will grab Glory. From what I have seen, our truly dedicated Cubans are: Gamboa, Rigondeaux ( getting there ), Franco, Rances Barthelemy, Salinas and Socarras. There could be others that are actually taking their boxing serious but these are the ones who we know are taking it serious.

The problem is that since most of them were stars in the amateurs they also think they are stars here " automatically " and that's not true. Yes they were stars over there but now they also have to prove it here at the pro level. Many of them find it too dificult to keep dedicated and training hard and can't resist the temptations of the sinful life in a new free Country.

 

I think Franco has reached his full potential. I don't think he is going much farther than this. Salinas is not that great. Socarras i really like but he really green and technically flawed. Great power. It is ok tho, he is really young and has a long time to develop.

 

Salinas, Rances, Santana and Franco have a bright future, they are 4 belts so I figured all of them can grab a least one, Garcia, Perez and Collado have a good chance to became a household or a least became champs, Socarras to soon to tell, so far these are the ones that has shown seriousness at the pro level, I might have left others out, but definitely Gonzalez and Ortiz are out of the picture, a least for now...

 

i like collado, looks technican for what i saw in one fight.
im very dissapointed on Ugas, i was expecting good things from him but his management sucks and im not sure his discipline is A+

 

I think we are underestimating Franco's abilities. I recently read an article from a boxing promoter or trainer I forgot that said that Franco was the biggest talent he had ever worked with and he had worked with great ones. Salinas and Socarras may not be that great in terms of having everything but if they truly take it serious they can grab World Belts.

Yes, Ugas doesn't seem to be one of the dedicated ones. He has great talent, let's hope that he realizes that needs to stay focused and taking it seriously.

 

On February 3rd, Hylon Williams (15-0, 3 KOs) will face Rances Barthelemy (14-0, 11 KOs) in Las Vegas. Hylon is currently preparing for the bout at The Heavyweight Factory GYM in Hollywood, Fla. Williams-Barthelemy is contracted at 132lbs. Williams fought almost all of his short career in the lightweight division, nevertheless in the last fight he moved up to super lightweight and defeated Andre Baker on December 3rd. “Hylon can fight up to 140 pounds; nevertheless, we believe that the best at this stage is to go down to 130 pounds. In the future we can go up to 135 or 140, by that time we believe that his best weight is lightweight,” his manager Alex Bornote said. Williams is trained by Ramon Garvey.
