Can the mods change the old title of this thread to something like ''Cuban boxing''?

He hasn't done anything so far in his pro career so what are you talking about?

He is one of my favourite amateurs all time, I'm a big fan of him and love to watch him fight, but stop s*cking his balls so much. The only decent opponent he had was Cordoba and he did not exactly destroy him did he?

Either you are a -18 young kid or you are really, but I mean really stupid and don't know anything about boxing.

First of all let's respect each other ok? The reason why I am so confident in Rigo's abilities and the other top Cubans is because of their unique amateur background. The Cuban amateurs have been the best in the World for the past 40 years and the pros are not too different. Their main problem is not whether they adapt to the pros but whether they stay focused, training, away of temptations and motivated.

Rigondeaux was the best amateur of the World for his entire career, he was considered P4P #1 for 10 straight years. Amateur or not that's a tremendous accomplishment! Rigo played with Cordoba and had him KO'd with that 1 punch body shot but let him recuperate ( possibly inexperience at the pro level ) and later countered and beat him to the punch in every single round. He learned that he cannot do that anymore in the pros because most fans don't want to see a " boxing match " but a fight.

Understand this: Rigondeaux and Gamboa are Cuba's Gems, they will not lose to anyone as long as they keep 100% focused, training and motivated. ;)

It seems he is still recovering, and it's better for him to wait and be totally ready than to comeback prematurely and hurt himself again. He is still pretty young at 31, he just needs to maintain himself in a good weight so that his body can get used to fighting at a healthy weight again. He has the goods, all he needs is to keep focused and motivated. I am also anxious for his return. ;)
