What do you think on Yoan Pablo Hernandez' future? He may be in the best position of all Cubans, best of his divisions and plenty of opportunities guaranteed by his German promoter. I also liked his big comeback in the rematch sealing the deal, Cunningham is a very cagey veteran and Hernandez won legitimately. Him vs. Huck would be a nice fight.

I think he is in an ideal position, too. He made a little stab at mainstream stardom by posing for the camera wearing onyl boxing gloves a couple of weeks ago but that only made most of us cringe a bit. So he'll never be mainstream famous here in Germany which makes Sauerland more willing to take the tougher fights with him. Of course Sauerland offers much more money for Cruiserweight fights than the American market so they'll get most of the opponents that they want. Anyway, he has already met Cunningham twice (been on German TV) and he is getting Troy Ross next (been on German TV) and there are plenty of other cruisers that have been on TV (Alexeev, Chakhiev, Lebedev, Afolabi, Arslan, Fragomeni for example).
I am sure he will get Huck too in the end even though their common trainer (Wegner) says it'll never happen as long as he trains them both.
They have of course been negotiating with Jones several times and I don't think they've lost sight of that match either although they really only wanted to get a full belt for him with that match. And he might just lose it to Lebedev anyway.
I think Tarver will beat Wlodarczyk and that path is probably closed to him in that case because I suspect Tarver would like to rematch Bernard Hopkins.
But... the first time he gasses against a puncher he will loose I fear.

 

So seeing as Rigondeaux is having problems getting fights and recognition (for years now), why don't you Cubans make some highlights videos and spam the forums with em? Help out a bit?

Looks like Gamboa-Rios is set at 135lbs.

Huge Yuriorkis fan, but this is an extremely difficult fight. Jumping up 2 divisions facing a guy who's a light middleweight on fight night and applies smart pressure is a really tough situation, I'm not sure if everybody understands the physical challenge. Make no mistake, Gamboa has the edge in speed, skills and mobility, but if it's phonebooth type of fight - the one Rios is an absolute monster at - all the speed and mobility is out of the window. Now if Gamboa can bring up his power and retain his speed and get rid of ANY defensive hole against the left hook (one of Rios' best), he may win inside the distance or boxing for the 12, but at this moment Rios cutting him down for the late stoppage is the most logical boxing outcome. In comparison the Lopez fight is 3 times more winnable, and that's a dangerous match-up to, so **** Bob Arum, as he looks to cash out on El Ciclon.

YP Hernandez impressed us against Cunningham. Huck moved up to fight Povetkin.
He might reconsider his future after that fight.
Many interesting names Jones-Kayode Tarver might fight Wlodardyk. Olympic gold winner Chakiev and dangerous Lebedev
Cruiserweight got so many exiting names.
Cubans Dorticos and Y Gonzalez could get into the elite if they get more serious

I guess the good news regarding Gamboa's weight jump is that the fight was already rumored several month back and he decided to move up anyway, so plenty of time to adjust. Being an exceptional physical specimen I expect him to handle the extra weight easily. The problems starts handling a LMW Rios on fight night.

 

Maybe there are any news about Solis?

 

Solis will join cottos camp in Florida soon, no opponent yet for April but he should fight Gamboa undercard
