Last time I talked to them was the morning they found out about the cancellation and they were still in California . I haven't talk to them since then.
Solis is training along with Cotto, he should keep training, somebody is gonna come along and must stay as fit as he can.

 

A punto de asomar su rostro en el calendario, noviembre se muestra como un mes interesante y decisivo para un trío de boxeadores cubanos. Erislandy Lara, Inocente Fiss y Richard Abril subirán al cuadrilátero los días 10, 17 y 24, respectivamente, en peleas que pudieran definir sus carreras de cara a un 2013 que está a la vuelta de la esquina.

El primero y el de mayor renombre es Lara (17-1-1, 11 KO), quien va a un compromiso contra Vanes Martisoyan (32-0, 20 KO) del cual podría salir el futuro retador del campeón del Consejo Mundial en las 154 libras, el mexicano Saúl “El Canelo’’ Alvarez. Al menos eso es lo que ha prometido el presidente de Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar de la Hoya, aunque muchos no le crean.

“Erislandy está en la mejor forma física y mental de su carrera y eso lo va a demostrar el 10 de noviembre’’, expresó Luis de Cubas Jr., mánager del antillano. “Vanes es un gran guerrero, pero no está a la altura de Erislandy. Nosotros confiamos en que De La Hoya mantenga su plan y le de una oportunidad para enfrentara Alvarez en algún momento del próximo año’’.

Poco a poco y a pesar de su poca exposición, Lara se ha ido convirtiendo en un favorito de las cadenas de televisión y no por gusto la cartelera será transmitida por HBO.

Por su parte, Fiss (15-0, 9 KO) combatirá por un título interino de la Asociación mundial (AMB), también en las 154 libras, el 17 de noviembre contra Robert García. El llamado “Lucero Espirituano” ha venido volando debajo del radar con varias peleas fuera de Estados Unidos, pero en esa fecha tendría una gran oportunidad si logra salir airoso en el Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino, en Las Vegas.

Uno de los baluartes de la promotora Dream Team, Fiss ha vivido a la sombra de otros compatriotas suyos con mayor recorrido, pero en su compañía aseguran que luego de servirle de sparring al puertorriqueño Miguel Cotto para su enfrentamiento contra Floyd Mayweather jr., es otro púgil.

“Eso marcó un antes y un después para él’’, apuntó Carlos Rodríguez, presidente de Dream Team. “Cuando él regresó de esos meses con Cotto, vimos a un Inocente Fiss diferente, cargado de energía positiva. Aprendió mucho y estamos seguros de que no desaprovechará este chance que se le ha presentado’’.

Por su parte, Abril podrá desprenderse de la “interino’’ que acompaña a su título de las 135 libras en la Asociación Mundial (AMB) si derrota el 24 en Ontario, California, al ugandés Sharif Bogere (23-0, 15 KO) en una mega cartelera promocionada por Golden Boy y que tendrá como protagonistas a Robert Guerrero y a Andre Berto en su regreso luego de su suspensión por el uso de esteroides.

Será la reaparición de Abril (17-3-1, 8 KO) desde que se diera a conocer al gran público del boxeo en aquella controversial pelea a mediados del año pasado contra Brandon Ríos, quien salió victorioso sólo por la intervención poco transparente de unos jueces que le arrebataron un potencial triunfo al antillano.

Rigo,Gamboa,Lara or close to elite.Great amateur rec but I understand this is the pros,they'll get there though.Good prospects & that's not even mentioning the 2 cuban studs who won gold in 2012 Olympics.They haven't turned pro so we'll see what happens.Lara won silver & a medal doesn't make him there's plenty of others like Yasnier toledo,Lazaro alverez the two other Olympians/medalists.Cuba future looks very bright.

 

Not really,not a huge fan I don't see oozing talent or great skill.Not taking nothing away from him he's just not on these other cubans level.
