Estrada was pretty impressive. I was surprised with Despaigne's loss, although Yeleussinov displayed some master class, he looked nearly untouchable and totally outboxed Despaigne.

I feel that Roniel Iglesias would of have schooled Akshalov in light welter if he was participating. Toledo has done a decent job capturing silver though.

Cuban WBA lightweight world champion Richard Abril has suffered an ankle injury that will prevent him from defending his crown against Venezuelan two-division former world champion Jorge Linares on November 10 in Tokyo, Japan. According to our information, Abril has an inflamed right ankle and has been advised by doctors to rest for several days. The fight possibly could be rescheduled on December 7 or December 31.

WBA #2 heavyweight Luis “El Mercedez” Ortiz (19-0, 16 KOs) will no longer appear on the November 26 co-feature of the November 26 Golden Boy Live! show at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The only explanation was that Ortiz will now be moved to a later date to be announced. The undefeated Cuban heavyweight was also pulled off the October 16 card at the Steel Stacks Arts Quest Center in Bethlehem, Pennslyvania. Ortiz’ lofty WBA #2 rating could land him a fight for the now vacant WBA “regular” heavyweight title

In a terrific slugfest between unbeaten heavyweights, Mike Perez (20-0, 12 KOs) won a hard fought ten round unanimous decision over Magomed Abdusalamov (18-1, 18 KOs). Both went at it immediately with Perez getting the better of it. Abdusalamov got back into the fight in round two and the war was on. By round six, the left side of Abdusalamov’s face was badly swollen. Perez was deducted a point for a low blow in round nine. Scores were 97-92, 95-94, 97-92

I wonder what the hell is going on with Luis Ortiz.

One time you hear that he signs with GB, and now he's supposedly a free agent getting pulled off fight cards...

    Anyone know what's going on?

europeans are good in both the pros and amateurs
cubans are good in the amateurs but poor in the pros

despite all that talent in the ams, cuba only got 1 pro world champ
summats not right, they are not making the transition cause they are pussies
