Probably...but, Mendez is a beast in rematches. :yep

He is very intelligent and once Mendez has fought someone, he can usually make necessary adjustments to bring a perfect game plan in next time.

He fought close with Martin Honorio, beating him by majority decision - then dominated the rematch taking a unanimous decision.

He lost to Juan Carlos Salgado in his first title bid despite knocking Salgado down...then kayoed him in the rematch.

    Just saying.

Also, Teddy Atlas made the point and I agree with it that we may have seen the best-ever version of Barthelemy tonight and that he may not wind up ever putting in a performance like that before or since.

Remember Rances is not a very experienced boxer. He gonna learn in every fight.

Oh ****. Cruz is a huge talent.

Since he still resides in Cuba and is relatively young I assume he was planning on participating in the next games in Rio?

Is that still an option? How bad is his situation?

Tiburon Promotions held the final press conference for this Saturday’s six-bout “Freedom Fights” card today from Casino Miami Jai Alai. Promoter Al Bonanni took the podium to recognize his own family’s Civil Rights struggles during the sixties in this very Miami neighborhood, thanking the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. for his own legendary freedom fight. Bonanni also announced the eight-round main event between Azea “The Haitian Hitman” Augustama (15-1, 9 KOs) and Jermain “Choo Choo” Mackey will be for the vacant WBC Fecarbox light heavyweight title.

Twenty-year old Cuban prospect Hairon “El Maja” Socarras (9-0-1, 6 KOs) fought his own fight just to get to the press conference as Florida Statutes do not allow anyone under twenty-one into a casino. Fortunately, the fleet-footed Cuban found a way in through the kitchen just in time to promise fans a spectacular showing in his six-round co-main event against Jamal “The Mailman” Parram (7-9-1, 5 KOs).

Undefeated Egyptian light heavyweight Ahmed Elbiali (2-0, 2 KOs) squares off against Yuwshua Zadok (1-1-1, 1 KO) in a four-round affair while heavyweight “Super” Chaen Chess (3-1, 2 KOs) of Cinicinatti takes on Hector Hodge (1-1) in another four-round contest.

Cuban Vilier Quiñonez (6-0, 4 KOs) faces durable Jerrod Caldwell (2-5-1, 1 KO) in a scheduled six-rounder.

Former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine (45-5, 27 KO’s) is targeting WBA interim junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO’s) for a fight in the near future. Mundine sees Lara as the guy that separates him from the WBA title, and he wants to beat him as soon as possible if he can get the fight against the Cuban
