King Kong Boxing, the management company of unbeaten WBA #2 rated Luis Ortiz, has announced that Ortiz will be facing fellow unbeaten WBA #5 rated Lateef Kayode for the vacant WBA interim title. The bout will be on September 11 at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Ortiz is 21-0 with 18 KOs, while Kayode is 20-0 with 16 KOs.

Update: WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto J. Mendoza told Fightnews.com that as of Tuesday night Golden Boy Promotions has yet to send an official request for sanction, however he did confirm that the WBA Championships Committee has passed a resolution to let Ortiz be the official contender or box for an interim title.
