In the opening fight of the night lightweight Luis Franco defeated Guillermo Sanchez via fifth round technical knockout. Franco (13-1-1, 9 KO’s) dominated the scheduled eight round before stopping Sanchez after the half-point. Heavyweight Luis Ortiz (21-0, 18 KOs), a Cuban defector living in Miami, will return from suspension to fight an opponent to be determined on the David Lemieux-Hassan N’Dam undercard on June 20 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
