McDonald's and their chins are doing no good for Cuba's boxing, a few years ago a lot of those fighter that manage to come out of Cuba's where rated as future all time greats, now only one remains the others are just getting fatter, lazy and very inactive. Now the hype are on Eastern Europeans.

At the UIC Pavilion in Chicago Friday night, Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (21-2-2, 12 KOs) Houston, TX successfully retained his WBA super welterweight title with a dominating performance over Delvin Rodriguez (28-8-4, 16 KOs) Danbury, CT, after twelve one-sided rounds. Lara controlled the fight’s tempo with his jab and stiff left hands, most of which found the mark on the head of Rodriguez. The challenger was dropped at the end of round six with a left to the chin and continued to absorb punishment for the remainder of the fight. All three judges turned in identical 120-107 scorecards.

Cruiserweight titleholder Yoan Pablo Hernandez, sidelined for close to a year because of a right elbow injury, is ready for his ring return.

Hernandez will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to face mandatory challenger Victor Emilio Ramirez -- who claimed the vacant interim title during Hernandez's injury absence -- on July 25, Hernandez promoter Sauerland Event announced on Wednesday.

Contrary to talk of issues with Pascal-Gonzalez on July 25 and some saying it might be canceled, promoters & HBO said not true. Fight is on.

    Ortiz-Polley added to Lemieux-N’Dam telecast

Former WBA interim heavyweight champion Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (21-0, 18 KOs) returns to the ring in an anticipated comeback fight against Brian “The Bear” Polly (27-18-1, 12 KOs) of St. Joseph, Missouri in a heavyweight bout on the undercard of the IBF Middleweight World Championship fight between Montreal’s David Lemieux (33-2, 31 KOs) and number one contender Hassan N’Dam (31-1, 18 KOs) on June 20. Ortiz scored a first round KO over Lateef Kayode last September to win the WBA belt, but then tested positive for steroids, was stripped of the title and suspended for eight months. This is his first bout since.

Ortiz vs. Polley will be featured as the U.S. televised opening bout in a scheduled FOX Sports 2 and FOX Deportes tripleheader presented by Eye of the Tiger Management and Golden Boy Promotions in association with King Sports Worldwide and Evenko. In the main event David Lemieux will take on Hassan N’Dam in a 12-round bout for the IBF Middleweight World Championship. In the co-main event, Dierry “All In” Jean (28-1, 20 KOs) of Quebec, Canada will face Jerry “The Corpus Christi Kid” Belmontes (19-6, 5 KOs) of Corpus Christi, Texas in a 10-round fight for the NABF Lightweight title.

    focusing on July 25."
Pascal will face a big challenge from his opponent, undefeated Cuban prospect Yunieski Gonzalez. Yunieski has a stellar 75% knockout-to-win ratio and has stopped his last seven opponents in a row dating all the way back to 2012. His previous three fights have not lasted past the third round and two of those were first-round stoppages. The 29-year old is originally from Cuba and now makes his home in Miami, Florida.
"This is the fight I have been waiting for," said a confident Gonzalez. "I'm not punching at him, I'm punching through him and when I'm done with him he won't be any good for anyone else."
