Seems like most of the cuban fighter who arrived the last couple of years do impress in the ring. Yan Barthelmy lost two fights but he seem to be an exeption. It goes fast for many but some like Santana and Salinas need to fight more often.
Luis Franco has a bright future and he will fight Leonilo Miranda (32-2) sept 17. It is very interesting situation in the 126 division and Franco is on his way up. Salinas is also in the 126 division and if he could get his fights it would be many cubans on the way

Franco vs. Miranda? Damn that puts tough match-making on a completely new level. Could be too early.

Good post! Angelo Santana is without a question my #1 absolute favorite of all the Cuban Defectors. They tried to step him up vs. Oscar Meza but the whole show got nixed, that was before Mercito Gesta knocked him out by the way. . . I'll be the first to admit that Angelo Santana has looked flawed in a couple of his fights; wild punches, leaves his chin exposed maybe a little too often. Nothing Gamboa hasn't done though lol. When Angelo gets his shot though, I'm more than confident he'll succeed. His management is trying to move him along but we all know how Don King's been these days. I think Don King needs another outlet. Like how Golden Boy has Telefutura, Dibella has Broadway Boxing, Top Rank has FOX, Don King aint got jack. Just a few shows a year and even most of them are Co-Promotions. Besides Devon Alexander he's sapping the activity out of his whole roster. The way things are going they'll all be past their prime by the time Don King even gets them a slot on a televised undercard... If given the chance I think Angelo Santana will shine brighter than all these Cubans but there's no signs of anything good to come. Just more inactivity, more waiting around, not even a scheduled fight right now. If he can keep his motivation and get the right fights I think he'll do really well.

Luis Franco will not fight Leonilo Miranda( 32-2) . It has been achange and Franco will fight Wilton Hilario (12-1) Hilario lost his last fight on points to Martin Honorio. FRanco vs Hilario is september 17.

Still pretty good, at least they appear to be done with matching the prospects up with 7-12 bums.

Solis-Adamek would be superb! Actually the best non-title HW match-up in quite some time, I'd love to see it.

Wow, there are Cubans here I've never even heard about.

We don't get much news about the Cuban boxers except for Alexi Acosta, Mike Perez and Luis Garcia. Great to see a thread like this.

    Viva Cuba!

Thanks mate, I'vs seen some of Lara's fights on youtube. I'd say he's the 3rd best Cuban out there after Rigondeaux and Gamboa.

I'll look up the other fighters too.

Sources close to both camps have said that a deal between former 2000/2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (6-0, 5 KOs) of Cuba and former interim WBA world super bantamweight champion Ricardo Cordoba (37-2-2, 23 KOs) of Panama is near final for both to meet for the interim WBA world super bantamweight title. The bout will take place on the televised undercard of of the November 13th Main event PPV extravaganza of Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito. Some weeks ago Caballero tried to get a fight with Cordoba.

Forget Adamek, he was badly cut in his last fight and is already in place to make a lot of money in a Klitschko fight. It doesn't make any sense for him to fight Solis for a fraction of what he would get in the fight mentioned.

Solis gotta fight Ray Austin, for the WBC mandatory position, it's by far his best option.
