    Nice to hear he's back in the ring. As a highly skilled fighter, it's very unfortunate that the lack of punching power makes it extremely difficult for him to get to the top.

    They say that Barthelemy beat Gamboa a bunch of times in the amatures, but seeing his matches I'm having doubts....

    Amateur is so different, you only have to score clean shots, it's doesn't matter whether they are big blows or not. And as aggressive as Gamboa is, a speedy, accurate counter-puncher can tag him all night.

    Gamboa beat Barthelemy in 2000
    Barthelemy beat Gamboa twice in 2001 and once in 2002, but these fights were early in Yuri's career, and at Yan's division. When Gamboa moved up to Flyweight, he did much better.

    yeah Barthelemy used to woop Gamboa in the amatuers, but the were both skinny and stuff, but since the Athens Olympics Gamboa has looked better and improved much more.

    I feel sorry for Yan but his last performance against a class Z fighter was not excusable and his lack of punch were factors for his disgrace.I hope he can bounce back-now that he is not on gamboas shadow-and make some noises at bantamweight.
    glad for those fellows in ireland!wherever is a cuban fighting there is my support.

    Lara will pick up a title at some point, so will Gamboa, Solis would if he got his fat arse into decent shape for once and was showed some hunger (for titles, not more food). Perez I'd say would pick up a title but his lack of size worries me, Rigondeaux will dominate which ever weight class he feels like.

    Im glad he won and by K.O, I wasn't really impressed but oh well a win is a win,

    the Cubans that recorded this were talking a lot of **** lol
