Energy on cuban fans? WTF are you talking about all i said is this thread served its purpose and it was time to start new ones. You dont have to start a new thread for each card. If fighters are in the same card you can start one about that card. If you want to find some info on rigo is hard to come here and find it. If like you said there are over 25 cuban prospects then is ****ing hard to find out about them unless you want to go through 49 pages and see where somebody is saying something about that boxer.

I dont know much about cuban fighters other than rigo, solis and lara. I hope they make it but history has shown their style is more suited for the amateurs. Time will tell how far all of them get but it seems all of them are taking their sweet as time.

"History had show" What history are you talking about? The 4 gatos that have come out of Cuba to box professionally? Let me tell you of those cats only TWO were somebody in Cuba ( One is Casamayor who was Olympic Champion and Panamerican Champion plus National Champion , the other was Hurtado who was World Champion amateur and also the CUBAN Champion ) see how I highlighted in capital letters because being the Cuban national champ is the most difficult to acomplish , so they didn't do that bad ( the national champs ) in the pro game did they? Casamayor did pretty well and could have done better if it wasn't for that personality of his ( even in Cuba he used to alineate fans ) and Hurtado did OK ( could have done better but for personal problems)
Don't talk about Eliecer Castillo , Gonzales and the others because they were nobodies in Cuba , for example : Gonzales wasn't the number one HW in Cuba
( El difunto, R.I.P , Balado was ) , but Casamayor and Hurtado WERE number one in Cuba and see how they did in the Pros , that's the real way to evaluate Cuban boxers , next time you see a new Cuban boxer in the States this is the question you have to ask : Who was HE in Cuba? Gamboa, Rigo, Lara , Solis , Despaigne , Ugas and Jhonson were number ONE in Cuba and: How are they doing in the Pros ? You know the answer, and trust me when I say it's only the begining , now a lot of Cuban coaches are seeing how the bussines work and are beginning to realize that they too can make a living , plus there's more boxers tryng to defect and this is a devastating combination ( Cuban boxers PLUS their trainers ! ) Soon , in the near future you will see a Cuban champ in EVERY division , so once more I tell you : leave this thread and find one about boricuas boxing or whatever , peace

this is what happens to the ones that don't like the Cubans athletes, they had seen their countrymen get beat up by Cubans in the amateurs, but once their idols jump to the pro ranks they forget about it, now Cubans are flooding the pro ranks like never before, well a least not like after 1959, and this is like a reminder for them what is coming, they saw a few of them back in the 90's, but it was just a sample, and out of those 10 or 12 fighters that could had done a little of noise, 3 of them did, Hurtado, Casamayor and Gomez, not bad for such an small group, and a group that left all their families, friends and Country behind, you know what really **** me off about those "critics" and "experts" is that they never mention the dangers that those athletes has to endure just to b here, and they never c the big picture or the choose not to c it, they don't speak the language, they don't have family and the sharks are swimming around them, still they try to make it, most of them has seen a supermarket for the first time or a 1980 car, is nothing to live for back in Cuba, and they are surviving.

solis turned pro in 07, 17 fights, about 4 a year
lara, turned pro in 08, 15 fights, about 5 a year
rigo is the only one that is coming up really slow because of managing problems
compare this # to your man juamma and you'll see that they all fighting at the same rate about 5 a year
and like the others had said, if you don't like this thread just don't come in

Actually guys, let's not be so hard on PuertoRicane. Yes I know that he comes in often and criticizes the Cubans but he has also said that he likes the Cuban amateur greats like Stevenson, Savon, Ariel Hernandez and others and has highly praised them. I think it's pretty normal for him to act like that as he ( like most Boricuas ), probably feels threatened that the Cubans are going to start dominating pro boxing now too. Think about it, if all of you were Boricuas I am very sure that you will feel the same way about the new Cuban boxers!

Nice video, it looks like Rigo is just practicing and just bored in there. I wish he gets the eye of the Tiger or better yet the eye of a Lion and starts finishing opponents off in the ring instead of just cruising to a UD win. I really admire his defensive skills but he needs to step up the offense in the pros!
