Like a cheerful schoolboy who just gained another hour of recess, Leduan Barthelemy let out a huge grin as he reflected on the outcome of his first professional fight.
Using his 6-1 frame, Barthelemy kept Tenney at a distance in the first round with a lead right jab.

Late in the round, Barthelemy pressed Tenney (3-1) to the ropes and scored with combinations to the head.

Barthelemy quickly realized the potency of his shots in the second round, sending Tenney to the canvas with a right to the head. Tenney struggled to reach his feet before the 10-count, forcing referee Sam Burgos to stop the super-bantamweight bout at 2:23 of the round

other bouts: heavyweight Glendy Hernandez won by unanimous decision over Jerry Butler; light-heavyweight Yuniesky Gonzalez knocked out Chris Kahn at 2:30 of the second round; junior-welterweight Puro Pairol won by unanimous decision over Jean Petit-Homme

I predict that in 2012 we will have Yuriorkis Gamboa as Unified featherweight Champ, Rigondeaux will be a solid World Champion, Solis will beat Vitaly and win the WBC belt and Lara will be World Champion... :good

PS, Cuban cruiserweight Yoan Pablo Hernandez is fighting tonight for the Interim WBA Cruiser World Belt against Steve Herelius. If Hernandez wins ( he should ), we can add another Cuban World Champion to our list !!!

Joan Pablo Hernandez just became the WBA interim cruiserweight champion. A counter left hook hurt Herelius, already having troubles with his left ankle, and another left hook put him down bloodying his nose. He beat Steve Smoger's count but was put down again by a series of left hooks crashing to the canvas face first. Smoger immediately waved it off. TKO7.

Next up is Guillermo Jones vs. Hernandez, who won all but maybe one round on my card before the stoppage, but Jones is a superb fighter, ridiculously underrated so I'd go with him ott the top of my head.

Cuban Cruiserweight Yoan Pablo Hernandez, (24-1, 13 KOs) scored a seventh round knockout over WBA interim champion Steve Herelius (21-2-1, 12 KOs) to claim the interim belt. Herelius suffered an injury to his left leg in round four and there was a lengthy delay between rounds four and five before the bout continued. Hernandez knocked him down twice in the 7th, the second time with a brutal barrage of punches. Referee Steve Smoger quickly waved it off at 1:19.

Interim shouldn't count, it's not a real world title. Jones holds the legit WBA belt, Hernandez needs to take that from him. But solid world class performance tonight nontheless.

Hernandez is real good....His win over Ismailov was kind of a fluke tho....but hes a impressive boxer. Cant wait for the Super 6. A fight with Wlodarczyk, USS, Huck, or Jones are all interesting.

I know but the Interim Title is also considered a World Champion, it's like being the " Vice President " in other words...

Congratulations to YP Hernandez, the Cubans are proud of you !!! :good

He's from Panama, very good skills, nice power, his career kryptonite was discipline. Given the right attitude and proper management he could've cleaned house in multiple divisions. For a guy spending half of his career at welter/super welter, it was really impressive to see him uppercut the **** out of cruiserweight champ Arslan at age 36. Only had one fight in the past 2 years, Hernandez is next.

The fight is all about Jones IMO. He needs to weather the storm early and start picking his shots vs. Hernandez who seemed discouaged how Braithwaite was still standing after R1 and looked uncomfortable vs Licina and Simms as well. Solid performance tonight though, he just needs to loosen up, this tight German style is really working against him, it's the opposite how Cubans fight back home.

Boxrec has guillermo jones as 6'4" that's impossible at that height he would never couldve made 147lbs
