Andy Lee showcased Friday!

A possible threat to Pavlik's dominance in the 160-pound division may come from Andy Lee – an undefeated fighter from Limerick, Ireland, with Olympic experience.

Since his 2006 debut, Lee has garnered a 15-0 record, including a first-round destruction of former junior middleweight champion Carl Daniels.
Lee hopes to add another mark to his ledger when he faces former Contender fighter Brandon Vera this Friday at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
One person who believes that Lee can challenge for middleweight supremacy before the end of year is his Hall-of-Fame trainer Emanuel Steward, a man who has guided nearly 40 fighters to world titles.
"He is the total package," Steward says of his protégé with whom he has worked since the beginning of his professional career. "He has the physical tools, the mental focus, the necessary self-discipline and he really, really loves boxing."
"Great fighters often have that rare combination of physical gifts and mental focus," says Steward. "Andy has that combination. I fully expect him to be a world champion."

Why is he the future of boxing? Because he is the owner of an Irish passport and speaks English fluently? Yes,he is a great talent with a great potential. No doubt about it!
But what about Gennady Golovkin whose amateur credentials are much better than Lee's ones.Golovkin won silver at the olympics,Lee didnt win anything there.Golovkin schooled Lee at the amateurs.
Golovkin has turned pro,and has been toughly matched up to now, tougher than Lee in his first 8 pro fights.

After Manny was on record saying he thought Wlad was one of the best Heavyweights in history, I stopped listening to him.

Just because you have not heard of Golvkin does not mean he is crap.

That is true Golovkin did win (I happen to like Golovkin) but do you know who else he beat that year? Lucian Bute!
In fact he beat Lee on PTS and KO'd Bute!

Manny seems convinced that Lee can beat Pavlik by the end of the year, but Manny also said pavlik could only keep things competetive with JT for 1 or 2 rounds!

Andy Lee might be the future of the Middleweight division.

Yuriorkis Gamboa is the future of boxing.

Pavlik would stop Lee; from what I've seen, Lee's good, but I don't think he'll be anything special or a long reigning champion.

Lee will be special but I agree he is not ready for Pavlik. By the end of the year even seems quick to me.

I was watching some Andy Lee stuff awhile ago for the first time this kid is the goods and im sure hes only going to get better. Boxings future is so bright right now with this kids like Lee and Gamboa coming off and the emerging stars like Donaire,Cotto,Pavlik,Dawson,Haye,Kessler etc along with superstars that have alot left right now like Oscar,Floyd,Mosley,Winky,Pacquiao,JMM agian list goes on and on. Boxing right now is so deep with stars, contenders, prospects. Heavy isnt too hot right now but Sam Peter emerged as a threat to Wlad,Povetkins looking pretty dangerous,Arreloa seems to have some talent and ive seen Orlandier Solis and he could go down as one of the greats hes got incredible talent and fights solid oppostion despite his pro experience not being so high.

Haha, Gamboa really is something else.

In regard to Lee and Steward. Manny speaks differently about Lee than he did Taylor. Andy is a very skilled fighter and could very well be middleweight champion in 2009.

Your exactly right. I do not want anyone to misunderstand me. I think Andy Lee is one of the best prospects in the world today. However, he needs a BUNCH MORE rounds of boxing against C+ to B- level fighters before he takes Pavlik on. If he beats Vera tonight and then Rubio in June convincingly, that probably tells us he really is "the real deal." That will make Andy 17-0, and his best wins will be Daniels, Vera, and Rubio. That's okay, but it does not mean he is ready for a guy whose best wins are zuniga, Zertuche, Miranda, and Taylor X 2. I'd like to see Pavlik/Lee in about 18 months.
