He'll be there: Possible future opponent, stable mate, and his father in the corner. We'll see Joe there IMO.

Hopefully HBO commentators will talk with him and ask Kelly point blank (assuming he wins) about Joe in the post fight interview. Maybe Joe and Pavlik can even talk to each other a bit and really get the ball rolling on this HUGE fight.:yep

 

Perhaps the only thing "Cinderella" about him could be a touch of glass in this fight.

 

Joe has undoubtedly seen all the film on Pavlik at this point. Hell, he won't have to rewatch it if he fights the ghost. He will also have sparred against Lockett so he will know pretty well where he would stand against Kelly.

 

This is the kind of fight that Pav MUST dominate like Cotto/Gomez style. The Calzombies are gonna have mad ammo and criticizm will be falling like rain if Pav doesn't blow this dude out.

If Kelly puts him out too quick, Ole Joe will want NO part of Pavlik. Joe has watched all the film and he will gage carefully how Lockett does against him. :yep

 

Man I hope this fight gets made, and pretty soon so the "Joe got all old" stuff won't be coming left and right if Pav should manage the win.

It's a ballsy call for both, but mainly for Joe because Pavlik has a lot less to lose fighting a 10 + year Champion (who is the current champion of two weight classes above Pavlik), mainly by UD.

If Pavlik wins, Joe would have been beaten by a Green kid whose only just won his first title at lower weight class.

IMO there are two scenarios, Joe could pull off a UD no question (just not a total ruling like most Joe fans like to say), the other Pav catches him good and wins via T/KO. IMO.

I have faith in Pavlik to find a way.:yep

 

Catch 22. Pavlik letting it look like Lockett has done some good against him, Joe will likely be laughing as he dials up Warren and says make the friggin fight. If Pavlik "carries" Lockett much, ESB will be hell on him for not blowing him out.

 

I've said it before. This is THE FIGHT in this area of the weight scale right now. Both fighters need to take it or face a charge of ducking later on and have an 'asterisk' next to their reputation. I see it ending up as a Pavlik/Taylor 2 situation though. Both could walk away with new fans and respect for showing up and giving it their all. Stepping up to the fight fans want to see.

 

I have to admit, I've taken quite a liking to most of Pavlik's opponents. JT I already liked for a while and well same goes for Miranda. But like Zuniga, I will watch him any chance I get, and loved seeing him tame the Dangerous Oganov.

It will IMO in short time be as in demand as May/Cotto. HUGE, HUGE fight and let's hope it gets made. Would look really good on both Joe and Pav's resume.

 

Yep. They could both lose more for NOT doing it than doing it and losing. The only thing that could really muck this up is not keeping Enzo and Jack muzzled. Otherwise, both fighters walk away with a lot of respect.

I can literally see them throwing water bottles at each other and ****.

 

Pavlik has said he is tired of the trash talk, so he might muzzle Jack himself. Not sure if Ole Joe would cross dad though.

 

Eubanks = old, shot

Reid = arguable won the fight but a crap fighter, a British level pug. Nothing more.

Lacy = an overrated joke, black and muscular.

Kessler = a timid ***** who ran like a dog against slappy and is terrified of fighting Miranda. With good reason.

Hopkins = ancient.

Mitchell = ***** please.

Taylor and Miranda are better than anyone slappy has fought. And Zertuche and Zuniga tougher and more vicious than anyone slappy has been in the ring with.
