It could have also been due to the fact more than half the people knew it was a fight already won for Pavlik.. If Pavlik needs to build up his status more, then what's all this talk about him becoming America's next big thing? I think Joe chose Roy because he wants to defeat another legend and because Pavlik is a middlweight as of right now..

No man this doesn't have anything to do with Kelly. There is a big problem over at HBO championship boxing. Its run by abunch of muppets and the head of HBO doesn't like sports. They've been setting record low after record low on HBO Boxing for the last while now and they need to do something quick or else the top brash at HBO is going to can the program. Cause programs featuring Miguel Cotto and Kelly Pavlik should not be setting record lows.

 

That wasnt a stand alone fight, Showtime also had a decent card that night and Im sure that had a great deal to do with the low numbers. I know that I watched the showtime card then the HBO card later that night on a replay. And Im sure I wasnt the only one, as many did vice versa.

 

I dont buy that. Pavlik is a up and comer he isnt there yet. And Locket was a total unknown.

 

All this means of any significance is less exposure for JuanMa than he ought to have gotten. Thanks a lot, Pavlik.

 

Good point im sure allot of people turned to the showtime card but then again only Kelly's die hard fans were amped for this ..Its not his fault but the fact that he was fighting a bum .I personally think if he does fight Kessler it won't do well either only because most Americnas don't know who he is ..Here is something I also heard that might make people ill ,If the Kessler fight doesn't materalize soon we could get ...........................Pavlik vs Mayorga atsch

He can't be faulted totally ..His dance partner is to blame ..But give him time ,as long as he racks up wins his draw will rise ..

Do you think every fight involving Pavlik will do the same low ratings? this is the same as people claiming Cotto's low rating w/ Gomez was justifying DLH - Mayweather II.

 

Neither was Cotto-Gomez or Calzaghe-Kessler. All of these cards went head to head with Showtime.

 

Not at all but for him to get that drawing power he needs to keep racking up wins ..But again its not his fault because his partner was a bum ..
