No he isn't a bum. He's fighting the number one contender. I don't see how that makes you a bum.

 

lockett isn't a well known fighter even in the uk. seems a bit out of the blue to see him fighting pavlik. you can guarentee if a fighter is championship standard over here he would be well known

i'd **** myself if he knocked pavlik out.

 

Do you see the Pavlik faithful beatinig the drums of war and flying our colors high for this fight?? Jesus.

 

He fights Miranda--then Taylor twice and now his mandatory. And you ask if hes a bum? This thread ranks up there with the most idiotic.

 

This man just fought Edison Miranda and Jermain Taylor (twice) ... this guy deserves a break. Lockett only lost 1 fight and is a top contender for one of Pavlik's belts.

Who else is out there for Pavlik to fight? ... Abraham already has a fight with Miranda ... Sturm doesn't want any parts of Pavlik ... the rest of the guys are not worth mentioning.

 

His goal is to unify MW. In order to do that, he must fight mandatories. It is not his fault, the #1's aren't big names. He is willing to fight anyone. Hopefully he can squeeze Calzaghe in, without being stripped of his belt(s).

 

Lockett is a clever guy who can bang and has alot of heart tho he has limited skill.

Probably a stoppage around rd 7 or 8 for Pavlik tho I give Lockett a punchers chance. Cannot see this going the distance.

 

I've never seen Lockett fight. He certainly has his work cut out for him though. Unless he's got a comparable workrate to Pavlik, and an iron chin, his chances of a win are slim. But Pavlik does get hit a lot, shows little movement, and Taylor proved that if Pavlik gets clocked good he gets in trouble.

 

Punchers chance; nothing else. Pavlik has it over him in just about every department.

 

i have never seen him fight but i know from his record lockett has a 70% KO. which is a lot but, against low competition. whereas pavlik has an 87% ko and has ko'd miranda and taylor as well as beating taylor over 12 rounds.

so i cant see him out banging or out boxing pavlik. he has got a ko punch but not as hard as pavlik imo. but then again i have never seen lockett. and i do feel his competitors in the past have been extremely poor and wonder why he is ranked N0.1!!??

 

I'm picking Lockett to spring an upset here.

 

as long as lockett keeps pumping his jab and taking his shots, he'll have a chance. Pavlik is a true warrior who can take a mean shot and keep coming though. locketts chances are slim, but i give him one.

 

i think pavlik will be in for a fight but i think he has to much to lose against lockett but i think lockett has a little bit more than a punchers chance
