its not like he is fighting them now. he is only 23. he wil continue to grow and be able to beat alotta those fighters.
What I am saying, is that he stays in the pocket more than in and out and. He does it cuz of his hand speed, which indeed is impressive. But he doesn't have the power that comes with his speed and a fighter with punching power will take advantage of that, specially that Russell doesn't move enough and can get connected like we saw yesterday. Plus, he is being hype. Just listen to the commentators.
Russell Jr.'s lack of defense, makes him one to watch in the future. A guy who fights like him, can't help but to be in action fights. Gets hit and dishes it right back. My only thing with him is that I wish they would work on some type of defense, and I wish HBO would stop trying to hype him like they did Jermain Taylor. If the guy isn't a power puncher(Russell obviously isn't) then don't try to hype him like he is one. I look forward to seeing him in the future. I hope they work on his defense and his stamina. He looked a little tired in that last round.
great performance last night from Russell, this kid has the goods, handspeed is ridiculous. love watching him fight
Well the weight class is basically ruled by them. I did mention John as i think he is top notch. Hey be my guest and name a top non latino fighter at 126. Just by stating the Gamboa KDs you are either desperate for a comeback or just dont know boxing. Gamboa does have flaws which is his balance mainly but Gamboa has never been hurt by any of those punches he was down with. Its the kids damn balance.
More sound than Garcia, Gonzalez and John?? I can see your argument for Gonzalez and John maybe but nobody is more technically sound than Garcia. **** even in the whole sport of boxing Garcia is one of the most technical in the game. Oh yea more sounds than Rigondeux!!!!???? That man is top 5 as the most technical in the game.
thats the whole point. No boxer doesnt have flaws. and Russell is only 23. he is developing and growing on the job. It will be fun to watch what he does as he ages.
Watch the replay of Russell and Miranda. Russell stands flat footed and points his front foot to the left making it harder to move and defend + counter. Makes him less powerful as well. Hand speed hides that problem but it will be a massive mistake to not correct that before he steps up.
