After watching that special on RealSports about it, I really don't think she killed Arturo. She's not exactly a big girl, I don't care how drunk Arturo may have been, she isn't picking him up, choking him with a strap and him not fighting back.
The ***** had something to do with that murder, too much **** was also not done by the Brazilian police and we know for a fact he wasn't strangled by the purse strap.
Imagine for a minute that you're Arturo Gatti. Imagine you're really drunk and depressed. You decide to kill yourself. Would you grab some cheap ass purse straps to do the deed with, straps that weren't even strong enough to hold his weight? F*&k no.
We don't know that for a fact, for starters, considering the evidence is RIGHT THERE IN THE ROOM WITH HIM. And I think people fail to realize that this isn't America, this is Brazil...not exactly a first-world country and the home of forensic pathology. People likely get murdered a lot there, I wouldn't expect them to check for every single possible thing. Especially when it seems to clearly be a suicide. The mark on his neck sure as hell looked like a purse strap mark, even if that doc on RealSports said it couldn't have been, and there were marks that matched on the stairs. Let's not forget that there were eyewitnesses that saw this mother****er, a relapsed alcoholic, BEAT HIS WIFE IN PUBLIC, before passerby's make him stop by throwing rocks at him.
Remember: If you want to kill somebody, make sure you do it in a poor country with a corrupt police force. That way you can slip some cash to the right folks and make sure they do incomplete autopsy and toxicology reports while making arrangements for your release. Of course, it's better if you know the language and locals who might help you.
why doesn't he explain himself on why he believe she is innocent?! i read the whole thing and got nothing from it.
1) ignorant american superiorty 2) ditto 3)unqualified opinion seeing marks 2nd hand on tv vs qualified doctor 4) previous offences= future guilt ladies and gentlemen, i present a idiot
EpsilonAxis, it is not supposition, it is actual fact that the purse strap did not strangle Gatti, the actual strangulation marks were smaller than the width of the purse strap and like what was said before, the purse strap couldn't support Gatti's weight.
