Kevin Rooney said he heard Tyson was 20 pounds overweight 2 weeks before the Douglas fight (I also remember reading this) and starved himself to lose the weight, Rooney also noted he immedatly saw Tyson's body was ˙˙flabby˙˙ and not in proper shape. Tyson was apparently also having group sex and a party the night before the fight. :-(
As for your last comment, thats pure cliched bull****. :deal

What's frustrating to me is that Holyfield/Tyson I was going to come off before Mike's conviction, but got cancelled because he sustained a rib injury in training. (At least that's what I remember.)

Any strong resistance usually made Douglas fold up. Even in the Tyson fight he was contemplating not getting up after getting tagged by that uppercut. That fight really didnt have Tyson presenting much other resistance either. Tucker he was far ahead and quit, Evander he quit. Douglas put on a boxing clinic that night, but Tyson's inability to get close to Douglas helped keep Douglas in a good state of mind.

Yep Foreman had the worse stamina in boxing history because he got tired against Ali. Yep getting tired 2 times in 81 fights proves Foreman had the worse stamina in the history for pro sports. Could you people think of something new to say. Foreman went 10rounds with the slick Gregorio Peralta 2 times and Peralta is far superior than the fat joke Buster Douglas. Good freaking grief.

Quitali is a moron so we shouldnt take anything he says seriously or any Tyson fanboy. George Foreman called out Tyson numerous times during his comeback and Tyson declined out of fear. I think there is a little acticle on this site that explains how Tyson avoided Foreman out of fears. After a while Foreman said he was no longer interested in fighting Tyson becuase it would only be a media circus ( This was after Tyson went to jail for ****).

Tyson feared anybody who stood up to him. If a fat slob with big titties like Douglas could destroy Tyson then guys like Bowe, Foreman, Tua ect ect ect would of killed him.

    :rofl :patsch

Tyson is way more a proven quitter at any point of his career than Douglas was on that night. Keep your fan-boyism out the forum. That bolded statement is utterly laughable.

Duck might not be the proper assessment but he certainly intentionally avoided Foreman. Foreman was all wrong for Mike and Mike knew that. It's said Cus told him no swarmer beats Foreman. Foreman called Tyson out many times. Tyson remember, and didn't feel the need to take the chance against Big George.

When Foreman was calling Tyson out he was not deserving of a title shot, he was not even a top 10 fighter, Tyson fought the best. A Foreman fight would have been a lose-lose situation for Tyson anyway, if he won he would get no respect for it, if he lost he would be ridiculed. But just how the hell did Tyson avoid someone who did NOT deserve a title shot? :huh

The only time Tyson truly quit was againts McBride when Tysons corner threw in the towel. But he should have quit againts Williams instead of playing all brave with the torn knee ligament and then getting stopped. :patschOliver.M. went all crybaby instead of taking his beating like a man from LL - unlike Tyson. And use the ˙˙fan-boy˙˙ expression all you want. So now anyone who deffends a certain fighters and states true facts is a fanboy? :huh

Instead of trying to bash the opposition learn to read/infer. I didn't say it but I implied Foreman wasn't exactly deserving of a shot. It's not really ducking, but he was definitely not wanting to fight with Foreman. High risk sort of fight.

Foreman later became ranked. Tyson could've fought him but he didn't want to. Holyfield took him on his first defense - wasn't Foreman becoming ranked around 1990?

Truly quit - as if there's a legit true way of quitting besides not coming out for the next round of a fight. I guess Douglas never quit, nor did Liston quit against Ali in their second fight? I was making a point with my statement by taking the extreme opposite case. Calling Douglas contemplating quit in the Tyson fight is as ironic as you can get. Tyson always collapsed when the wall was being pushed back. And I think anybody can legitimately call Tyson quitting the 2nd Holyfield fought with the ear bite if you can say Buster almost quit in the Tyson bout. All the facial icons and question marks can't change the truth.

So let me get this straight. With your name and all, I bet you consider Vitali quitting worse against Byrd with the legit shoulder injury than Tyson in Holy 2? Mad or not, it was obviously a way of getting out after biting Evander not once but twice.

And true facts? So Buster almost quit against Tyson. Tyson proved way more quit at any point when pushed with adversity than Buster did in that brilliant and highly motivated fight against Tyson. I was making a point, but believe what you want, which certainly isn't the truth nor the facts.

Well Tyson fought the number 2 ranked man in the world, Ruddock (who Foreman avoided btw) twice and then went to jail so I dont see an issue here. Before Ruddock he fought Stewart who was number 4 ranked I belive (but I could be wrong by a place or two) - who got robbed silly againts Foreman not so long after (and was giving Holyfield a run for his money not so long before) he was destroyed by Tyson.
But your right, Foreman was a high risk sort of fight, but not beacuse Tyson could lose but beacuse he would gain NOTHING by winning.
