Why do every GGG fan need to hype GGG so much? Are they affraid that the Hype is the only glory that he will have? If he is so great, let the man claim his glory alone! Really, what the hype only does, is destroying GGG, if he is really that good. Because he will be ducked all the time and wont be fully reconigzed.
I think what they are really afraid of his is his hype being the only glory THEY have.... a lot of these guys puffed their internet chests out....when pac was reigning on the game....they talked endless trash about how great he was while demeaning floyd...it all came crashing down and they were left to start babbling about excuses they don't really believe in real life in order to save what was left of their internet egos now they are trying to live again through ggg......they are clearly ok with him fighting b-/c level fighters and little guys like cotto rather than face the one guy who could send it all crashing down pac was a likable guy ...fan friendly style...good for the sport...but his fans turned many well wishers against him...and ggg fans are doing the same....these guys give ggg a pass for things they would/have crucified others for
for years FLOYD told us that he was greatest...how great he was....and all of these guys told him to "prove it".... now these guys tell us how great ggg is ...and we say "ok prove it"...and they say "why should he go up a weight class he doesn't have to blah blah"

I'm a big GGG fan but what i think some of the other GGG fans need to realise it that no one is saying he isn't a good fighter. The debate is usually around his level of comp or who he should/could have fought. Think they assume people are saying he sucks which as far as I've seen no one has really said
Even if Golovkin had done like haters are asking him to do which is fighting bigger guy without financial award (opposite to Chavez jr. and Froch), history proofs Ward making 168 would have been a gamble. Actually there are not many who would have done such a dum move, maybe those esb haters would but they are not relevant. Btw. Nobody made any serious offer anyhow.. But if you must, maybe you could continue this fiction somewhere else.
From what I've seen, most of the hype seems to be in response to people saying ridiculous **** about him. And vice versa. Twas ever thus. The assumption seems to be that it's Floyd h8rz jumping ship from a sinking Pac. Ironically Abel Sanchez is a huge Mayweather fan, who regularly describes him as a genius.
I totally agree here. GGG had a good amateur career. And he is interesseting to watch. I have no idea just how good he is at PRO level. But, he fought and defeated very good fighters in his amateur days. So he is talented for sure. But his boxingstyle, is a style that can be countered. Most styles have a counterstyle. The styles of Mayweather and Ward are IMO the most difficult styles to counter. The style of boxers like Kessler and Froch was very easy to counter for a slick fighter. The style of Bute was easy to counter for a aggressive Froch style. And GGG's style.. Well.. How many dimmenssions he have, I dont know. We will see when he steps up.
golovkin's style is counterpunching. that great jab that he's known for is a counter jab. the only fighters who can negate his style are fighters who can take his punches while at the same time landing punches of their own.
