So this thread is littered with a black guy and a south american guy in a racist battle with eachother.
As I said: 'that (perhaps it should have read 'those') people (who) question a fighter who is a five-weight champion (And I'm not a massive FM fan, or that of Ward either) in deference to a boxer...'. Those people, not all GGG fans. Don't get me wrong, I like GGG, he's entertaining to watch and has undoubted talent. I just like to keep things in perspective, that's all.
No, taco bell boy. Just no. You asked about the implications of this sentence. Which is a bit more than 6 words. "We are talking measuring the intelligence of posters based on their favorite fighters inability to lose." Come on, man. You are confusing yourself. You are ****yzing a simple cut and dry post like its a Russian crime novel, and wandering why you can't make sense of it. The post simply meant what was written.
The GGG hype? On the forums? There ain't actually that much genuine hype of him and it's generally fairly restrained these days. Most of the GGG vs (insert atg) threads are started by established trolls and most of the pro-ggg hyperbole is in response to equally unbalanced criticism. The **** seems to have taken on a momentum of it's own and to be - in part at least - a continuation of the bull**** between Manny and Floyd fans. Some of the more prolific posters seem to enjoy trying to get under each others skin much more than they enjoy actually discussing the sport, but whatever... I ain't in any position to criticise people for behaving like assholes.
thats not what happened at all. some idiot, in a twist of irony, called me a dummy. i offered to take an online test, of any kind and of his own choosing, to determine which one of us was the actual dummy. he replied that he already proved that he was smarter because he picked floyd (his favorite fighter) to win vs pac, whom i picked. another poster pointed out that deciding who was smarter by whose favorite fighter stays undefeated, would put floyds fans and ggg's fans on equal footing, when using that criteria. from there, it escalated to floyd fans trying to prove that was wrong because floyd had better quality wins, while ggg fans just laughed at the phlomos inability to grasp the stupidity of claiming superior intelligence on the grounds of picking your favorite fighter to win, and him winning. it pretty much stayed stuck at that level.
Please help Drenlou realize that. The poor boy has been lost and confused by that simple post for pages now.
he knows, if hes smart enough to type, hes smart enough to realize that. its just his neurosis that keeps him from openly admitting it. its not like we are trying to decipher some cryptic symbols, its a simple sentence. look up the infamous "floored" thread so you can see this type of behavior taken to unbelievable lengths.
Are there online tests to accurately establish a person's dumbness quotient? I would have thought Einstein's definition of insanity - 'doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results' - would work just fine as a guiding principle.
Hmmm.. So you're pretty much implying GGG will finish out his career like Floyd? Nope once GGG fights a chicanito caliber fighter he will lose. :hi: Go head and switch it around again like that's not what you mean.:rofl
Fair enough. And I see why you said it. The 3 do seem to be used as sticks to beat the others with. Not sure why given there's multiple weight classes between each. Might as well say hyping Miura is akin to spitting in Klitscho's face.
