Isn't it odd how boxers with glass chins are derided on here and in general?

Any day of the week you will see on this forum a post or thread about someone being dismissed as having a glass chin, and therefore is a 'bum'.

Logically, shouldnt those with glass chins who go on to have success be more lauded than those with granite chins?

Take Froch for example, I like Froch, but he isn't a very good boxer. His chin basically was his career.

AJ is often dismissed as being chinny, but if he manages to go through the other top heavyweights then it will only make his achievement even better.

Essentially, a superb boxer with a poor chin should be held in higher regard than a poor boxer with a granite chin.

I agree. I've said this before, a glass jawed fighter that succeeds in boxing has overcome tremendous odds. Now, it should still be recognized as a weakness in assessing their career, and particularly their chances in H2H matchups, but yeah, a glass jawed fighter that overcomes their shaky chin to accomplish something deserves to recognized for beating the odds.

Lads, how about we take each fighter's accomplishments on a case by case basis?

Agree with your post, it makes Roy Jones earlier career all that more amazing.

Unfortunately 99% of the Glass Jawed fighters don't go on to do anything great and get exposed before they do any serious, Amir Khan, Audley Harrison and Seth Mitchell are 3 recent examples that spring to mind.

Pretty sure, like certain, that khan has had a very successful career. Khans in that 1/2% of fighters. Im sure 95% of fighter's could succeed half as much as khan.

And khan doesn't have a chin that remotely resembles what most on this forum claim. If his chin is so terrible how is it even possible he's never been ko'd ? Ive seen him tko'd on his feet twice, but never ko'd..

We have to take in to account the shots that resulted in those tko's, vicious. But hes not anywhere near the level of his old training and stable patner, now that's what happens when glass shatters. The glass be busted and you go nite nite until some smelling salts wake yo ass up.

And khan had taken much bigger shots than any of those 3 (yes THREE separate times) times he was shattered. I know, i know, the pac cult is coming to go ****ing crazy, calm down, i speak facts, so it's not me making sh!t up like the cult

Watch again Prescott fight. Khan was stopped on the canvas. He hit the floor at 2:17 and still trying to get up at 2:04 when referee waves it off. Just to correct your post.

If you take Khan's amateur achievements out of it he's been a trinket belt holder in a single division and that's it, there are literally hundreds of fighters in the last decade that hold that achievement.

He's never been the champion in any division he's fought in and also never rematched any of his losses which for someone who claims to care about legacy hurts his own a lot.

Khan also stuck his fingers up to the fans when he denied them the fight they most wanted to see. His career has been smoke and mirrors, nothing special and will be forgotten very quickly when he retires.
