I hope he does because he really is bad for this site, hes top rankings are great boxers you read a thread of his and it makes u wanna post else where.
You realize that Jones was 35 and older in all three of those KO's right? Calling him a fraud exposes you for your stupidity and is an insult to the sport of boxing. Boxing is one of the hardest sports that takes a special kind of toughness over almost any other sport, suggesting that someone can bluff their way to the top like a game of cards and stay there for a decade before getting "exposed" is insulting to the sport and makes you sound like a real ass. Fighters get old, fighters lose abilities, the ability to take a punch can fade just like anything else. Calling a legendary fighter a fraud when their skills are eroding after a long career is a disgrace.... Don't post that bull**** again please.:good
:deal As has been said already, he only got KO'd after the age of 35 - I think all he'd had before that was a flash knockdown against Del Valle. Now look at Sugar Ray Leonard at 35, I guess he was a glass jawed bum too :nut
All the usual excuses for glass-jawed fighters, wrapped up into a neat little package. Sometimes the explanations are a not more obvious, like, if you can't remain vertical when taking a punch, perhaps you don't take a punch too well!
So what? Seriously, so what if not everybody can take a punch (or multitude of punches) as well as a handful of freaks? If only people with Chuvalo-like resistance were permitted to get boxing licenses (which seems to be the natural progression of your "if you can't take a punch well, you don't belong in the ring" logic), the talent pool would be very shallow and the sport very boring, because there'd hardly be anybody in it.
I'm not suggesting that. I LOVE glass-jawed fighters. Why without guys like Hasim Rahman to get spectacularly starched, this sport would be a lot less interesting! What really cracks me up though is how defensive boxing fans get when people merely SUGGEST that their faves might have less than perfect chins! It's like you're a heretic!
We only learn about someone's jaw after a significant number of fights. One knockout doesn't tell us much. Four or five does. It's more a matter of that.
So you would agree that a guy like Hasim Rahman, who has been brutally knocked out multiple times, has a glass jaw, I would assume.:yep
I can go with this. Makes sense. What I can't go with is when a fighter gets KO'd ONCE, and all those degenerates run around the forum shouting 'glass-jawed-fraud'. Just look what happened with Amir Khan. The guy lost to a powerful puncher after taking some vicious, flush shots, and Khan is suddenly a fraud. The norm is to get hurt by those kind of punches, not the other way around.
