I knew it was coming but I'm gutted all the same. Ali was beyond being a boxer or even a champion. He was an absolute legend the likes of which we won't see ever again. He gave us some of the most epic sporting moments of the 20th century, some of the best sound bites, some of the most iconic images. He was the Greatest pure and simple. A very sad day but also a day to celebrate the life of this great fighter and human being.
I'm going to my grandfather's house tommorow to rewatch some of his fights together. It has long been understood at my job that I'm not coming in the day after he died. I'm gutted.
I understand. I feel the same way. Well, He's talking **** and shuffling in heaven now. Out of his sad broken body and dancing under bright lights with Joe once again.:!:
How about we recount some of his quips? My favourite, " I'm so fast, I hit the switch, and I'm in bed before it gets dark. " R.I.P. great man.
A brilliant fighter and a massive icon. To quote Angelo Dundee: "Muhammad ruined us for everybody. He was great outside [the ring]; he was great inside. We got so accustomed to it we thought we deserved it."
Funny, I've been in tears over the years watching footage and videos of him but today I'm pretty calm about things. No more suffering now champ. His soul is too strong to fade away.
Very, very ,sad news,"The Greatest "heavyweight for me and a unique and special person, we won't see his like again. RIP Champ.
Rest In Peace. The Greatest. A truly giant personality of his times. A unique human being. Popular across the world like no other.
