I rank Haye over Carlos de Leon. At Cruiseweight, De Leon held a belt for a good time, but his opposition was terrible. His best wins were Marvin Camel, ST Gordon (both ranked contenders at CW) and a very green Johnny Nelson. De Leon also lost several times. The real leader of that era was Holyfield. De Leon was active 10 years in that recently-born Cruiserweight division and was probably the second best, but nothing more.

David Haye, on the other hand, was the best fighter in the best Cruiserweight division ever. In five years he unified a division that had been a chaos. He beat Fragomeni, Gurov, Mormeck and Maccarinelli. Only lost once, before his prime. That puts him above De Leon, imo.

Juan Carlos Gomez could be a good candidate for the second place in my CW rankings. My main objection is that his era was also very inferior to Haye's era. Vasily Jirov also deserves a Top5 mention, but his era was also mediocre; he never fought JC Gomez and lost his most important fight against James Toney.

James Toney was a fine cruiserweight. His win over Jirov is impressive. Top10 material.

    **** off

DLH had every advantage going vs Chavez... more to the point tho, he will never be ranked over Chavez by any sane person & at their best Chavez was the superior fighter as well.... Oscar could only dream of putting on a masterclass of the standard JCC put on vs Rosario.
