You forgot to mentio Barrera at the hands of pacquiao. Problem is that these guys are all at the end fo their careers.

GBP gets alot of hate but i have nothing but respect for them they have taken boxing to a new level. And if they get boxers and former boxers involved in the promoting i'm all for it! More power to the athletes IMO.

I agree with the OP. If only Hopkins, de la Hoya, Barrera, ,etc etc, had money to fall back on. But unfortunately they don't. They have to earn money constantly to support themselves!! Its very unfortunate, boxers being so poor. Especially Oscar. He may have beat Mayorga (so what?!), but he has had a few bad years. He must be so poor by now!

The fighters themselves might be loosing but heck, isn't it great for boxers to be taking the power into their own hands and making great fights. Golden Boy Promotions might be the best thing that ever happened in boxing because now a fighter does not have to vegetate after retirement, they are taking up the business end and doing things themselves. Vargas is getting into the biz as is Mayweather. Isn't this better than a Bob Arum and a Don King?

mayweather promotions will inevitably rise up and crush golden fishnets promotions. then 'nard can go and work as janitor for floyd instead of DLH.
