Many boxing fans forget what boxing is: It is a sport. 3000 BC, in ancient times, peopel boxed. The Brits made the rules of modern boxing centuries ago, even before Napoleon conquered Europe. It was and still is a sport of gentlemen. Fights were organized for the upper class and noblemen fought, like they fought in wars at the foremost front back in the medieval times. Boxing became a sport for everyone with the time .. two people step into the ring, they forget adrenaline, staying rational, concentrate, fight. Before the match, you show respect, after the match, you shake your hands. It is a sport. With the time though, bad men came into this sport. Some were skilled, many overrated (especially compared to boxers from today). Ali, Jones Jr., Mike Tyson. Thugging started, disrespect, dancing in the ring, drug abuse. Were those men good for boxing? On one side, yes. They entertained this sport. But if you want to be entertained, if you need some soap opera, then go watch wrestling!! Boxign is a sport for gentlemen. Those bad men dominated boxing untill themid 90's, when they slowly declined. Today you have still some, in my opinion, bad men. Floyd Mayweather Jr., Adonis Stevenson, Adrien Broner, Bernard Hopkins. Women beater, former prisoners, pimps, robberers or just unfunny, disrespectful reallife trolls. Are those men good?? Where would they be if they wouldn't become rich with boxing?? Social workers? Engineers? Teachers? I doubt it .. On the other hand, you can see that more and more gentlemen come back to the boxing ring! Gennady Golovkin, a family man, a hard working, dedicated man. Always smiling, he speaks four languages fluently, he is a role model. Yes, as a boxer you need to be a role model! Bring the young people away from thugging an the street life. Vitali Klitschko, gave his title away after Haye, another disrespectful guy (canceling the fight for 3 years after calling the brothers out, posing with their beheaded heads, the toe story, fight at press conference etc.), ducked him and went to the Ukraine, to be political active. A family man, politican, doctor, speaks four languages as well. An educated man. Manny Pacquiao, one of the richest boxers after Floyd. Do you see him in strip clubs or trolling online? Throwing with money that homeless could need? There are million of homeless in the US. No, Floyd became a politician as well, he tries to get rid of the corruption in his country, fighting for the people, role model for a whole country. Those men are gentlemen, they are the Good, not the Bad! What is your opinion? Does boxing need more show? More former criminals ighting in this sport, makinga scene, spitting into their opponents faces? More thuggin, fighting? Or should boxing go back to it's roots and become a sport? Do you watch Kovalev vs. Pascal because of the fight, are you happy and excited because of two different styles, to hard hitting fighters meet or are you more excited because Pascal behaved disrespectful, staring like a psycho, getting too emotional and attacked Sergey?
