..why he lost. He got stupid. I was saying to myself as he came out that round he should watch out, and then boom.. over. Atleast Katsidis was smart enought to realize what he did wrong, he had that fight won, but got young and stupid, and Cass did what he should have done when a guy got wild, he countered with a big left.
thats exactly what i said. he is still very young in the game and he seems disciplined enough to work on his defense and learn to control his aggresion in the ring. if he does that, he will be a good champion in the future,
Katsidis showed that anybody could be KO if they come in crazy. Casamayor is not even a big puncher and look what he did to Katsidis.
It's not about being a big puncher, it's about catching a guy with a clean shot they don't see. All 3 KD's were the same way, all 3 were counters that Katsidis didn't see coming.
Well Katsidis got careless against Graham Earl and was dropped by him and also by Amonsot. This to me suggests not a great chin ?
Alot of people thought Casa lost to Nate Campbell the first time so I hope they get it on again and with Manny moving up and Marquez possibly following him. The lightweight division looks like theirs some very interesting fight still to come even a possible Katsidis v Juan Diaz also Jose Armando Santa Cruz still waiting for a rematch with Casa.
I don't think his chin is the problem. It's because he comes in so recklessly, leaving his head up in the air just waiting to get caught.
Sort of like another fighter who was trained BY an Aussie Vic Darchinyan. Just coming with his head all out and available.
Totally, I like that comparison. Both come in without the jab, face first, all out aggression, often predictable. And both were on the wrong end of highlight reel knockouts.
Sucks that it happened to Katsidis in a fight where he showed so much grit and determination buuut thems the breaks. Vic getting KO'd was a thing of beauty..especially when he called out everyone from 112 to 168.
