Seen this Godoy has a few decent scalps on his record, do you think he might upset Ryder tonight? Doesn't look like a big puncher though and might need a KO to win on a Matchroom Card. Been looking at the odds and it could be worth a flutter. Not the best idea though betting on a fighter you've not really seen before!
Ryder just can't seem to get the fans excited. Shame, cos technically he is a very complete boxer but he just seems to lack the "spark" or something to set the place alight.....although he is more exciting than Martin Murray!
Not impressed either, i like ryder but there is no smoothness to his work, he doesnt throw enough combo's, always looking for the 1 punch.
I was there and this fight was incredibly boring, so much so all of the crowd got more entertainment from people balancing cups on a drunk guys head who fell asleep. Even the sky cameras came over to get some footage.
Ye Johnny come lately guys are gas men. All along fellas were coming on here touting ryder as the next big thing. One fight and ye are writing him off. There was nothing unusual about ryders performance last night. It was disgusting hearing the sky team almost sneering at Ryder, putting him down all the time etc. At least I have been balanced about it. I have consistently said I wasn't sold on John Ryder. I can say called it right about ryder all along. And said so on here too. But I was sickened by sky's two faced about turn treatment of him last night.
Ryder's a good fighter, wasn't a "dazzling" performance last night by any stretch but his opponent was a decent operator.
It's the way the sky fella..Halling??....was almost slagging Ryder that really annoyed me. One "ordinary" performance and Ryder gets almost written off. How many mediocre performances has Martin Murray had? Andy Lee? Ant one of em may well have struggled last night. Let's give John Ryder a break here.
