Froch's weaknesses have already been exposed long time ago. He is very succeptible to quick right hands because he keeps his left by his waist and also looks sloppy and slow sometimes. All of this will give Dirrell opportunities if he could fight composed in a hostile environment.

Dirrell's speed can definitely be a problem for Froch but Froch has fought good, quick fighters before and they couldn't beat him. Speed and skills alone will not win Dirrell this fight, but his composure under pressure, and ability to take a punch will be a big factor, because he also keeps his hands low and is inexperienced.

Froch also said recently that he's been working on keeping his hands up for this fight. I think he will beat Dirrell because of his experience in big fights and his calmness in the ring. Most of the pressure will be on Dirrell to rise up to the occasion and prove himself.

Froch today is slight favorite and even though Direll is taking a good fight, he looks very tight at the weight and hasn't been up at this level before, i hope he has learned to let his hands go more since that nasty bore against Curt Stevens.. Dirrell is brave and well conditioned but Carl is more seasoned and had more solid world class showings than Andre thus far.. Froch is my pick but i hope Dirrell does opt to do some work , he needs to solidify his standings to feature in such a decent division. I honestly dont see Dirrell as a giant threat in this event..........

I personally like Froch- he talks a lot of trash but seemingly backs it up in the ring. He does however have many flaws which have been spoken about in great lengths. Direll is just a terrible matchup for him stylistically- i don't see him running out of gas in the later rounds of the fight. Currently if you go on various sports betting websites online, the lines are relatively fixed at Direll at +105 and froch at -125. For an undefeated WBC champion fighting in his hometown, that should raise huge concerns to anyone thinking this will be a cakewalk for the Cobra.....

I am not just saying this because I'm from the UK, but, when Dirrell is in hyper mode and he's jumping all over the place (like the Dirrell/Froch press face to face) he is trying to be an early Roy Jones. When he is being interviewed 1on1 it's as if to me (now you can call me crazy if you like) that he tries to sound like Floyd Mayweather. He says things like "I respect the guy, but you know what I'm gonna do when I get in the ring, I'm gonna be the best Dirrell I can be." That to me sounds alot like what Mayweather would say.

    Call me crazy :happy

Well I hope Taylor can pull off the win against Abraham, I think that will boost his confidence immensely and he will go into the next fight with newly found confidence.

Only blind people if they do. They are worlds apart, however hard Dirrell tries.

There's a great Carl Froch myth? I must have missed it. As far as I know, he's just a tough guy who got a title for the first time less than a year ago and is undefeated in 25 pro fights. A lot of good fighters make it to 25 without a loss. Where's the myth of greatness coming in?

    What Myth?

Nearly everyone who likes and rates Froch does so because he is a warrior whose last two fights have been very entertaining.

EVERYONE understands his deficiencies in hand speed, foot speed , technique and defence.

I think Froch will win this with something to spare.

I think Froch looks overrated by the people who underate him. :blood
Dirrel's fans may overrate him because he's unproven.

This is how I envisage the fight: Round 1: feeling out process for both man but dont be surprised to see Dirrell imposing his will to gain froch respect, Dirrell circling, and Occasionally switch hitting from orthodox to southpaw, whilst Froch feeling him out with long jabs, probably be warned for back handing, even round
Round 2: The Matrix starting to stay in the pocket covering up looking for an opening, froch lands heavy blows but all on the gloves, on the outside both of these fighters have there hands very low, but Matrix can take the advantages due to the speed differents, dirrell round
Round 3: Frochs coming forward and having some sucess, but Dirrells just to slippery bending low he get a warning from ref which causes boos from the partisan crowd, froch seem disturbed from dirells jabs, direll getting the upper hand in the exchanges seems more powerful with his extra determinations, boom catchs froch with a right cross froch grimaces and opens his mouth exposing his gums shield in a act of bravodo, cobra starts hunting him more desperately again dirrell slips out from the attack and holds onto froch...bell rings dirrell round
Round 4: the crowd sense a shift in momentum in favour of Direll and chant out "who are you who are you" only to make Direll make Dirrell fight more harder, this leaves an opening "boom" froch lands a corker, water sprays the crowd goes wild, dirrell cuts above eye, but not stunned solid chin from the Matrix, gets a bit scrappy in the later half of the figh with dirrell jabbing from distance, froch stuck in treacle at momnet just cant cacth dirrell bell rings dirrell round
round 5, FRoch changes his strategy and keeps it a little longer still thats not working dirrell unleases heavy artillery froch grabs direll arm in one attack and referee intervenes, looking like froch realise the enormity of the task ahead even the home town and crowd doesnt give him the edge,
just out of nowhere froch lands right cross which worsens the nick on direels eye, this gets under dirrel skins and again unleashes lightning fast combinations, 60 percent connect rate, froch goes back to his corner groggy legged, robert mc cracken his fuming at froch tell him to work behind the jab and stop making stupid mistakes "attack him when his backs to the rope pounce on him!!!!!!"
    to be continued........

I don't totally agree with El Guapo, but Froch is way too overrated here. Winning a vacant belt vs a not even deserving Pascal, defending vs a washed up 160lbs, look like ****, manage to ko the guy out and now.....GRANITE CHIN, SUPER POWER AND HEART, TOP GUY AT 168LBS....is this what we call....OVERRATED???
