Under LPR rules I give the edge to Sullivan. Bare knuckled combat required a totally different kind of punching technique and as said throwing and wrestling was allowed.

 

Yes, though as you mentioned yourself Sullivan had many more fights with the gloves on and a regular bell. It's a smarter idea to put your money on the Rock but there's a chance Sullivan could go storming in and hit a home run. He was quick and awfully powerful.

No I don't I think in Sullivan's day they through more than 7 or 8 punches a round which is why I laughed.
But be for u do underestimate Sullivan's conditioning there is a great article out there on his training regiment. Really no Sparring which is weird but his conditioning routine is exhausting just reading about it

 

I bet he did have great stamina. I also hear he had a great right hand punch

I think Sullivan does have the edge in stamina. I mean even when fat and completely past it he still went 21 rounds with a prime Jim Corbett and it sounds like Corbett was giving him a heck of beating through out.

 

I think Marciano was undoubtedly in much better condition.

 

Sullivan was actually quite gracious to Jack Johnson, he respected his ability and, before and after the Jeffries fight gave him his just dues.
