What would have happened if Oscar de la hoya had gone in and slugged it out with Trinidad? Would it have been a battle of the left hooks? -Would Oscar have gotten knocked out in the late rounds? Would he have stood a chance against Trinidad or would Oscar have looked like Duran going up against Hearns? This question, if you are latino, still begs an answer, and the reason why both fighters' resumes will always look blank until a rematch happens. I am a fan of both fighters, just to clear the air. And yes, it does not have to be either/or.

By slug it out, I mean, toe to toe action.

I think Oscar would've survived, but would've suffered a knockdown or two. Personally, I think Oscar should have gone after Tito in the last two rounds. Despite being the more active of the two (not hard considering Oscar stayed away), I honestly thought Tito was quite faded in the last two rounds, and if Oscar had enough left, he should have gone after him.

That's the thing, Oscar had nothing left. He had fought a style of fight he had never fought before. He bounced like crazy, moved back and forth, expended a lot of energy that he was not used to expending, and he said it himself, he was dead tired. Maybe had he gone in without moving so much wasted energy and fought the way he fought other fights things would be different. But yes, he was winning until the gas tank zeroed out. Tito didn't have much either, but had more energy than DLH.
