ey, can anyone fill me up on fights that were considered robberies or were simply too close to call and hence has been debated ever since. i might have time to watch a few of them once i get hold of these pairings.

jmm-pac 1 and 2 are surely debated as they were extremely close.

dlh-tito was clearly for me a dlh win. was realy surprised at the decision.

can anyone recommend a fight falling within the two categories above. thanks

and yes, i think dlh won that fight vs tito. fair and square. he schooled the guy for 8 rounds, tito blood was on dlh shorts since round 2.

the taylor chavez fight. not a decision but that was a taylor victory til the end. also
whitaker vs chavez in 1993. NO way was that a draw. whitaker outboxed him with ease

i remember that taylor chavez fight. i think taylor was KO'd in the last 15 seconds right.
that whitaker fight i did not see but based on written reports was maligned as one of the worst robberies.

i need to see that fight one of these days.

    Disgusting robberies are:

    Juan Coggi-Eder Gonzalez 1
    Alfredo Escalera-Tyrone Everett
    Evander Holyfield-Lennox Lewis 1
    Joel Casamayor-Jose Santa Cruz
Roy Jones in the 88' Olympics

Close fights that could have gone either way are:

    Oscar De La Hoya-Pernell Whitaker
Shane Mosley-Oscar De La Hoya 2 (Mosley was roided and EPO'd up so I consider it a no-contest anyway)
    Jermaine Taylor-Bernard Hopkins 1-2
    Evander Holyfield-John Ruiz 1
    Lennox Lewis-Ray Mercer
    Sugar Ray Leonard-Marvin Hagler

Most of the fights that are called "robberies" by people fall into the latter.

That whole second round was the biggest disgrace in boxing period

Hagler/Leonard is very debated. Though I can't see why because I think Leonard won easy.

Fenech / Nelson I is the worst I ever saw.

I forgot about that one. Nelson won 3, maybe 4 rounds IMO.

But Coggi-Gonzalez 1 is still the worst I've ever seen. Dude really lost like 3 times in that round but still managed to win.
