Lennox was born to Jamaican parents and moved to Canada when he was 12, how the **** is he British. I wonder if in years to come you blokes on here will be claiming some Pole as your own.
First off, use a question mark. Second, he spent his first twelve years in London. Third, he has a British passport. He is British by law and he is British according to him. Is it that difficult to understand?
Lilo you sometimes hear people say of yeh hes one of our lads because he used to play for so and so team. Then you look a little closely and it turns out the individual played for the team in under 12s and has since had nothing to do with that team or town. Maybe in years to come the individual in question will get an interview and to turn it on a bit by talking up his childhood playing for this "team". The old blokes at the pub will be able to tell the other old blokes that so and so played for their team therefore hes basically a true blue (one of us) Its what the British forums sound like. No Hate Brah, just sayin. Consider this future scenario. Danny Kowalski dominates HW boxing for a decade. He holds a British passport and has done sparring in his youth at some East End Club. He moved back to Warsaw when he was 15. Brits on here. BEST BRIT BOXER EVVAAA !!!!!
He represented Canada in the Olympics. His parents are Jamaican. Ive heard of Aussies chasing British passports for convenience. On a side note theres probably loads of IRA members with a British passport.
What about Chisora lads? This content is protected instead of Plastic Paddies it could be Plastic Pommies
Like it or not, Lennox Lewis is English, as stated by the man himself on the following link. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/forum/566535.stm Lennox Lewis: I have always been English, ever since I emigrated from England and since the kids in Canada beat me up at the age of twelve for having an East London Cockney accent. I thank them for the cockney taunts because the beatings turned me on to boxing. But on a serious note Canada has been kind to me.
Lennox Lewis's record cannot be denied. Lloyd Honeyghan and Nigel Benn rank highly as well. John Conteh had great talent as did Ken Buchanan. If pushed I may have to pluck for Lennox Lewis. Honourable mention to the great Ted the Kid Lewis, Randy Turpin and Bob Fitzsimmons.
