Bob Cleroux took a good shot as well, was he ever off his feet?your right most fight fans wouldn't know who he was.all 3 of those fights were very close way back in the early 1960's
How about Gorilla Jones? I think he was off his feet all of once in 141 fights including 24 losses, 1100 rounds against a array of great fighters
Gearge chuvallo without a doubt i saw him against foreman and the man took full blown punches with 100 percent leverage smack on the chin with every ounce of weight behind it repeadly and the tough ******* wouldnt go down. I think that the guys with the thicker skulls and bigger jaw muscles have a much higher chance of having a world class chin and if you look at chuvallo his whole head looks like mother nature constructed it out of the hardest brand of granite known to man.
Toney. all the way from 160 to heavy standing his ground against all comers. never looked shaken. off balance and down off a Peter jab KD against Reggie Johnson was legit the KD against RJJ was bullcrap....the barge knocked him off balance, not a punch. Toney got clowned in the whole episode, but not a legit KD. if another hardheaded middleweight like Hagler had gone up and gone toe to toe with a 245lb puncher like Peter most of you guys would be going nuts about it. But he didn't. Nor did supposed badass Hopkins, nor Monzon etc.
most of these guys are young, never seen chuvalo so they may pick a toney,or even mccall both great chins but not as great as chuvalo's he was the man as far as best chins ....
Chuvalo. Never down. Took a lot of shots. I cant think of any other name heavyweight that was never down in their career.
