Ricky (Hitman) Hatton It's just hit me while responding to another post that over the year's Hatton has been tagged by many an expert and fan's alike as nothing more then a club fighter , Thow if you look at his record and what his achieved in Boxing it's quite an insult to 90% or more of active and retired fighter's who cant claim to have achieved what Ricky has in his beloved sport of Boxing. Former The Ring magazine's World Light Welterweight Champion Former IBO World Light Welterweight Champion Former 2x IBF World Light Welterweight Champion Former WBA World Light Welterweight Champion Former WBA World Welterweight Champion Former WBU Light Welterweight Champion Former British Light Welterweight Champion Former WBO Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Champion Former WBA Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Champion Former British Central Area Light Welterweight Champion The Ring magazine's 2005 'Fighter of the Year' ABA National Champion Light Welterweight 1997 ABA National Junior Champion (Class A) Light Welterweight 1995,1996 ABA National Junior Champion (Class B) Light Welterweight 1997 ABA National Junior Champion (Class C) Light Welterweight 1994 Must be stressed that his only 2 defeat's have come at the hand's of THE BEST P4P FIGHTER IN THE WORLD ! alot for active fighter's and kid's lookin to get into the sport to become thought as World Class or dare i say a contender ( in Hatton's case to the P4P best in the world ) Im not a Hatton nuthugger before the remarks come just hit me earlier when looking at thing's Your thought's plz
It's just hit me that so many people have called him nothing more then a club fighter over the years and if you look at what his achieved and who has inflicted his only to defeat's it's amazing the amount of negativity toward's Hatton
Who thinks Hatton is a club fighter? Seriously I wanna know because they should be banned from discussing boxing. Hatton's taking alot of flak at the moment but nobody seriously believes that surely, the guy was a very good fighter who beat other good fighters but lost against the best in his division, honestly people cant do anything without getting the **** ripped out of them. If your unbeaten its because you've not beaten any real prime rivals. If you've been knocked out once your obviously chinny. God help you if you actually have two losses on your record!
Hatton isn't a clubfighter, hes just a second mid teir fighter... Not a bad one, but hes just doesn't compare to the first teir guys like Mayweather, and Pac... He shouldn't of really faught Pac, i know its easy to say that AFTEr the fact but he really shouldn't of. But on the bright side he made a **** load of money and hes set for life so he can't complain much.
True, but Paulie to Pac is a big jump... Also he had minor problems vs that Spanish guy in Manchester....
Many Boxing expert's and fan's alike over the year's have called Hatton a Club Level fighter Source is just go threw some of the old thread's on here about Hatton , And i feel Hatton had every right to challange both Mayweather and Pac because as he stated many times all he had left to achieve in boxing was to try and become the P4P best fighter on the planet he come up short but he stepped up to the plate and dared to dream
I dont think its fair given the opposition he's beaten to ever call him a club fighter. Club fighters can not beat tzuya castillo....
See I had Hatton a point up in the Collazo fight but id not have been surprised if it had been called a draw , I never had Collazo winning and if i recal at the time i watched the fight back over twice , thow that's not the point of this topic it's weather you beleve Hatton was nothing more then a club level fighter
Just short of the best fighters. If he lived a more healthy lifestyle in between fights, maybe his body would have produced more than it gave him. But I love the guy - he got me interested in boxing pre Tsyzu.
Hatton's only lost are to two of the best fighter of this decade and he's now labeled a club fighter? atsch
No, Hatton was a good champion. Not what you would call a very skillful fighter, but he had strength, aggressiveness and warrior mentality. Just fell short when he faced the #1 p4p fighter at the time in Mayweather, and the #1 p4p fighter right now in Pacquiao.
