It's so easy to me to pick Chacon-Limon IV. Like Vic, I love any Chacon fight. Throughout his career, emotion played such a part in his game, whether it be someting he emanated himself, maybe it was something from the crowd.......my guess is one created the other, and vice-versa.

Then, later in his career, he added the underdog angle to that emotion, and he was an even more powerful draw than before. It's like watching a great movie, it just sucks you in.

Some great mentions here all around. Others for me would be........

Saad Muhammad KO14 Lopez - If someone asked me what Saad was like as a fighter, I'd say "I'll make this easy; just go watch this one."

Sanchez-Nelson - Such ebb and flow, so much heart, such scientific brutality.

Morales-Barrera I - Yeah, that was pretty damn spectacular.

Gavilan-Turner - Maybe an odd choice, but it really is a terrific fight. Turner is a promising, strong, hard-hitting young contender who is game and fairly competitive early, but Gavilan shows the world just how savvy and tough and smart he is in this one. Just a terrific performance, he takes the kid out to sea and drowns him.

Arguello vs Pryor I for me, just superb.

Chacon vs Limon IV is a close second. And Harold Johnson vs ezzard Charles a close third.

I agree on Gavilan vs Turner, absolute superb fight with brutal ending.

    It'll always be Pryor-Arguello I for me

You had drama (bottle controversy, Pryor getting his head knocked back by that epic right hand, matinee idol vs. former street thug)

    Nonstop action

...and memorable moments (Arguello getting KTFO, Pryor going from brawler to boxer halfway through)

I guess I don't really understand.... I thought that boxing wasn't invented until Oscar de La Hoya. How can any fight be considered without him?
He was Babe Ruth, Barack Obama and God rolled into one human boxing machine.
He was considered to be the greatest sports figure in history and no one even remembers another boxer because the illumination of the light of the star power of Oscar shone so brightly.

Monshipour vs Sithchatawal (OK, not the GREATEST fight ever, but among the very best, and probably my favorite fight to watch because it had so many crazy rounds filled with back and forth action)

    Carbajal-Gonzalez I
    Quiroga vs Anifowoshe
    Chacon vs Limon IV
    Vasquez vs Marquez III
    Gatti vs Robinson (both fights)
    Gatti vs Ruelas
Ali vs Frazier III is a good shout, along with the FOTC
    Moore vs Durelle, too.

Actually, you know what fight might top the list for me, though?

Gomez-Pintor. Just fabulous from start to finish

A,thanks for your interest. That eventful night of March 8,1971,at MSG is an event in my life that i will never forget. How could I ? A co-worker bought a ticket to this fight, unbeknownst to me weeks before the fight. My dad knew of this surprise and kept mum about it. i was pleasantly shocked to know of this
and was full of great anticipation as i hadn't been to MSG,for many years prior to this event. I first saw Cassius Clay in 1960,win a close decision from a tough Aussie,Tony Madigan, in a finals Olympic bout at MSG. Clay at that time a dancing light heavy, eaked out a close victory over Madigan...
Joe Frazier, who became one of my all-time Favorites,i saw for the first time lose a close decision to rotund Buster Mathis,in the 1964 Olympics Finals at the Worlds Fair stadium in Queens, NY.
I remember walking into the Garden rotunda, that night, ticket in hand, seeing
a parade of fur coats, and other fineries. It was like a fashion show to us,
unlike the boxing crowds I would see at MSG years before. We got to our
seats in the end upper balcony, far away, but I luckily took a pair of binoculars
for the event. I remember more "tension" in the air, because of these two undefeated fighters. I saw celebrities as burt Lancaster, Sinatra, etc with my
field glasses.I recall the introduction of great former champions as Louis, Walcott, Braddock, Tunney, but there was a roar from the crowd demanding
Jack Dempsey be announced,[We want Dempsey, we want Dempsey], and
the announcer, knowing his ommission, promptly introduced Dempsey to a great roar from the crowd...What a night, what a FIGHT.A night I can never ever forget, especially when Joe Frazier dropped Clay with his pattened left -hook in the fifteenth round..Frazier was never the same after that night ! It was his high-water mark of his career. Two great undefeated fighters at the top of thei game. What more can you ask for.?..Cheers A...
