The Adamek-Briggs fights were among the greatest I've seen in the upper weights, yet these fights rarely ever get mentioned among the great "wars" of this boxing era. Another fight, which was so brutal that each fighter was never the same after the fight, was Ebo Elder-Courtney Burton. It was a crossroads fight, which both guys laid it all on the line and battered and bloodied each other for 12 rounds. Great fight. And of course, perhaps a bit more mentioned, is the Gatti-Robinson fights, particularly the 1st one. Among the best fight I've seen, and everything you can want to see as a boxing fan.
Francisco Rodriguez Junior's ten round draw with Jomar Fajardo from last year was absolutely brilliant. Fajardo was not in Rodriguez's class but with heart and will he just battered his way into contention. I actually scored it a draw, too, although I seem to be in the minority and most people who saw it seem to have gone for Rodriguez. But it's brilliant.
Thanks, and agreed on both counts. Corrales-Frietas was also a good one, though disappointing for Frietas fans
