What is the greatest gameplan employed in a bout between 2 elite boxers? Maybe the slight underdog who employed said gameplan...
Erm...I was thinking more along the lines of Ali Foreman, etc...maybe a few bouts I havn't seen/havn't seen in a long time.
Mosley vs Margarito? Hopkins vs Pavlik? And yes, I quite like the Pacquiao vs Hatton one too. Even though it only lasted 6 minutes, Roach's analysis was spot on.
Judah - Tszyu until he got caught. Pacquiao - De la hoya Pacquiao - Hatton Mayweather - Corralles Ward - Kessler Dirrell - Froch both played their cards the best possible way imo
Michael Watson vs Nigel Benn Benn 22-0 all by KO a 160 pound Mike Tyson back then..... Watson, very slick boxer, below average power...has a few losses... PLAN was to let benn shoot his wad like a madman for the first half of the fight...and then take it to him.....much like the rope a dope....and it worked....great fight for and very underated to this day This content is protected [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb8S_e94pvM[/ame]
Just to clarify Judah didn't get caught by a lucky punch, Tszyu found his distance and caught him with good timing. He was landing his jab easily and it was only a matter of time before he'd start landing his big rights. Judah = Dominated the 1st round Tszyu = Dominated the 2nd round.
I think you may have confused the question or something cos' what you say doesn't really make any sense. How could the greatest gameplans be one's that didn't even work? And in the case of Judah v Tszyu how could the greatest gameplan be to get knocked out in humilating fashion? A great gameplan that springs to mind for me is Hopkins v Trinidad.
