    1. Letting his hands go

    2. Putting together beautiful 5-6 punch combinations unlike in this fight

    3. Looks faster. Doesn't look like the huncback of notre dame.

No, it would probably take a rematch... and even then.

Louis was awful at ad******g mid-fight. Might be a stretch, but it's true.

Patterson had some of his best victories around that time, though. And he said he injured his back late in round four, but he had looked outclassed way before that. He also had problems with his back throughout his career, even when young.

While I'm not claiming that the back injury was made up in any way, one should be aware that fighters always, always have some excuse when they lose that one-sidedly. Personally, I don't see that much difference in Patterson before round 4 as compared to after it. I think it has been a bit exagerrated, to be honest.

I couldn't have put it better.

I knew Walcott very well, and there is no one on this site that is a bigger fan then I BUT to say he had better footwork then Ali, is really pushing it. Even Jersey Joe told me and many others that Ali was not only the best, BUT he was the fastest and had the best footwork of any heavyweight he ever saw.

You could say the same about Mosley against PBF. The simply fact is, that this is how you look against extremely fast opponents who control distance supremely well. No mystery.

I don't think that he looks like the hunchback of notre dame at all.. Remember, this is Patterson's FIRST fight with Ali that I posted.. His posture looks to be just as erect, and his legs still appear to be very serviceable.. His mobility doesn't seem to have changed much either.. Perhaps the only reason that he appears to be a bit faster and getting off more combinations in your clip, is because against Ali, he wasn't facing an opponent that moved like a truck with a busted transmission in the mud.

I used to think that Ali was the given answer to this question. Today I feel it's much more complicated, unfortunately. But I'll go with Ali, anyway. Out of sentiment, if nothing else.;)

Patterson looked decent in the first 3 rounds but he did look like a hunchback from that point onwards.

Obviously Ali too had gotten older but Floyd looks far better here:

Yes he was.. But at 40 years of age, he hardly possesed the mobility that a Young Ali had..
