Did everyone forget Jones existed? Did Del a Hoya slip their minds?

Beat me to it. Nice one TBooze.

Even though you were joking, I agree. Out of interest, have you seen Michael Buffer's net worth after patenting 'let's get ready to ruuuuuuumble'? Allegedly ca $400million!!!!

Those in the know, your Moorers and Holyfields, and Tyson from prison. It would certainly of been an epic rematch, McClellan v Jones II.

They certainly forgot Nigel Benn existed.

In answer to the question, Don King wants to know. After all, where there's Mc there's brass.

Good Fighter Clinton, always was. Right from giving Sugar Ray Leonard a good fight in the Olympic quarter finals in 76 to regaining the British Light Welterweight Title at, I think, 37 years old.
The fight you're referring to is when he got banged out by Tony McKenzie of Leicester but it was in the 3rd or 4th, not the 1st.
I was there when he regained the Title against Lloyd Christie who was nearly a decade younger and they fought each other to a standstill.
You and your Dad should be proud that you met Clinton. One of British Boxing's good guys.

There was a guy called Bernard Sullivan who used to do the Barrett and Duff shows in the 70's and 80's, McVey would remember him well. Had a voice like vintage claret. He always addressed the crowd as "My Lords, ladies and gentlemren". Sullivan really added to the big fight atmosphere and sense of occasion.
