He did a pretty good job of avoiding Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe.

    Idiot

How to beat Tyson? Show no fear

Buster Douglas and Holyfield did that

You know someone knows nothing about boxing when they say Tyson was the greatest ever. He probably wont even get into the HOF the way the voting is going

Tyson was good yes, but he was matched very well and came up short against Buster and Holyfield and couldn't rectify it

Go on youtube and watch Arsinio Hall and Muhammed Ali interview and listen to what Tyson says

Tyson wouldn't even be in the top 10 heavyweights of all time

I think Tyson had one of the best aura's of all time. There are few fighters who inspired quite that much genuine terror into their opponents. However I think he is far from the best heavyweight of all time. I do think he had the tools to have created a far better legacy for himself than he did though, and I think if he had peaked and had a longer prime, he could have been top 10 of all time.

The thing with Tyson was that he was mentally fragile. He began to rely too much on the fear factor, and when Holyfield and Douglas etc showed no fear of him, he wilted.

People say he would have beaten Ali, but I just don't buy into that. He was too mentally weak to have dealt with Ali and Ali would have beaten him before the bell even rang.

Iron Mike wanted nothing to do with old George Foreman. Dont see how he would have much of a chance against any top 15 ATG heavy...

I can see no ones gonna put you out of your misery so ill fill you in. The man you were referring to was called Joe Louis, a different spelling, therefore whenever Lewis comes up in heavyweight conversation it is automatically presumed that the person is talking about Lennox.

As for Tyson, he was great to watch and is probably underestimated for his boxing skills by some but he dosnt come near to being the greatest of all time, not even greatest heavyweight.

If you are fairly new to boxing and only know much about the modern era i recommend reading the classic forum, they will put you right and also youtube will help you out as ypou can watch alot of the greats box on there and then make a more knowledgable opinion.

I love Tyson he was everything i looked for when watching boxing. A true animal that smashed everything in his Wake and scared the living **** out of anyone that faced him. Its true he lost the plot and other influences ****ed his head up,if Cus was around then everything would have been different.

I really cant see him taking Ali (no 2 of all time) although i think he would have given him a good go, the same goes for Foreman. Big George had too much power, size and strength for Tyson IMHO. Plus Tysons fitness by his own admission would have let him down.

P.S your gonna get destroyed for starting this thread!!! but atleast its a refreshing change from Pac and Mayweather!!! Good luck.................................

Ali is the greatest HW of all time !

P4P greatest of all time has to be Sugar Ray Robinson .

Tyson was so insecure and mentally fragile even at his peak of 86-88 that Ali would have had him a gibbering idiot before the 1st bell .

Ive got him in my all time top 10 HW's but not top 5 .

    cheers
