Who for you is the greatest pound for pound fighter of all time, Id love to have seen kid ted lewis,SRR,Willie Pep,Henry Armstrong and yes they may be argubaly greater fighters but for me it would have to be Roberto Duran followed by SRL. Duran simply because he is a 4 time weight champion, Ferocious, Master of Defense and a great character as well.

JCC, what a great fighter. But never a top 5 "pound for pound" fighter of all time. Not unless your a big fan of him, and its heart over head.

    Surely not.

Henry is definitely up there among the P4P greatests.

It maybe cliche, but it is true, no one was sweeter than Walker Smith Junior; the man that Pound for Pound best was (literally) invented for.;)

You got your facts mix up.

The early know word POUND for POUND was mostly relation to Ruby Fitz and his 3 title rein. Robinson has no claim that the word was invented for him.

Duran is disqualified from the #1 spot for two reasons: New Orleans and his woeful inconsistency in the 80s.

It must be Sugar Ray. And there is only one Sugar Ray where I live.

Sugar Ray Robinson, with Ali a close second.

    Hence the brackets...

All the way the 70s and 80s, the only pound for pound debate of any note, was on who was the best ever, and quite frankly there was only one answer.:good

    1) Ali, could you imagine how fast he'd be if he was shrunk down to middleweight?
    2) Joe Choynski, He was light heavyweight KO'd ATG Jack Johnson in 3 rounds. He fought a draw with ATG Jim Jefferies and was outweighed by +/- 50 lbs.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    3) Marciano
