Close call as far as very top wins, but in terms of quantity, not that close, nor in terms of consistency.

 

I personally do, based on accounts. Detractors will bring up the whole Pittsburgh Decision bull****, but who else scored the fights than who was there at the time? Did other judges see the fights on film?

 

They fought 5 times, according to accounts Greb should've definitely won 2, possibly 3. I'll give him 2. He officially only won their first bout though.

I thought we were going based on fighting resumes, not "win" resumes. That changes everything.


Its strictly my opinion, but I consider Charles and Moore better fighters than Gene Tunney all 3 at their best. I also consider black murdersrow better fighters than the middleweights greb fought. Add Lamotta to that list a top 10 middleweight of all time and you have one hell of a list of quality.

 

3-2 Greb or Tunney, take your pick depending on the source.

 

I thought it was pretty obvious when discussing resumes we were discussing wins. Otherwise you could make cases for guys like Marion Wilson at Heavyweight.

 

As do I, but not the young(in Charles's case), MW versions that Marshall beat.

Light heavy: Charles

Middle: Greb

Welter: Walcott

Lightweight: Canzoneri

Not sure where to place Langford his resume is amazing should I tie him with Charles at light heavy or have him at heavy. Are we talking about overall resume not just opponents who weighted the particular weight class limit? Cause if were talking overall resume then Walcott has to be the guy at welter.
